<h2>FPL Gameweek 23: Teams and fixtures to target</h2>

<h3>⚽ Target for goals: Manchester City, Arsenal and Spurs</h3>

<li><strong>Manchester City v Wolves (H): 2.87</strong></li>
<li><strong>Arsenal v Manchester United (H): 2.07</strong></li>
<li><strong>Liverpool v Bournemouth (A): 2.0</strong></li>
<li><strong>Newcastle v Aston Villa (H): 1.83</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>Targeting Manchester City against Wolves feels like a no-brainer, however there’s more to this than meets the eye.</p>
<p>City’s attacking stats have dropped recently and Wolves aren’t shipping goals any more.</p>
<p>Arsenal’s attack is also regressing and Manchester United’s new manager bounce may continue. The Red Devils dominated the reverse fixture despite losing and will be out for revenge.</p>
<p>Liverpool are doing OK from a results perspective but their performances have been lacking.</p>
<p>There’s a chance <strong>Mohamed Salah</strong> could be reintegrated to reinvigorate things and the game is crying out for another premium player that actually returns consistent points. Bournemouth are a great opposition to face for attacking assets.</p>
<p>I’m surprised Newcastle’s projections are so high given the quality of opponents Aston Villa, however they are very good at home.</p>

<h3>💪 Clean sheets: Manchester City, Arsenal and Spurs</h3>
<ul>
<li><strong>Manchester City v Wolves (H): 44%</strong></li>
<li><strong>Arsenal v Manchester United (H): 36%</strong></li>
<li><strong>Spurs v Burnley (A): 33%</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>As much as Wolves have improved, it’s more from a defensive perspective and they’re still lacking in terms of attacking quality, although City do leave themselves wide open on the counter.</p>
<p>If anyone can stink out a game and dampen a new manager bounce, it’s Arsenal.</p>
<p>For all their faults, Spurs should be able to shut out Burnley.</p>

<h2>FPL Gameweek 23: Players to target</h2>
<p>Here are my top five players to target with their opponents' weaknesses in mind:</p>
<h3>🥇<strong>Cristian Romero (v Burnley)</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Target: Big chances and headed attempts</strong></p>
<p>Despite how bad the attacking stats are for Spurs, Burnley are still the weakest defence in the league - although you should temper expectations given it’s an away game.</p>
<p>Burnley have conceded the most big chances in the league in recent matches and they’re second worst in terms of headed attempts conceded.</p>
<p>Defender goals are difficult to predict but Romero has managed three so far this season. This included one against West Ham in Gameweek 22, who are the worst team for allowing headed shots on goal.</p>
<p>In addition, Romero is reasonable at picking up <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-defcon-points-watch">defensive contribution points</a> and there’s a high chance of a clean sheet.</p>
<p>We’ve seen plenty of defenders hauls this season and he could be the next.</p>

<h3>🥈<strong>Mohamed Salah (v Bournemouth)</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Target: Zonal match-up</strong></p>
<p>Liverpool’s attacking stats aren’t amazing, however Bournemouth are conceding a bucket load of chances.</p>
<p>Salah left for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) amid a lot of noise over his future and now the dust has settled, time could be a healer.</p>
<p>Liverpool are crying out for goals and that’s something he has always supplied.</p>
<p>Bournemouth have conceded the joint-second most chances in the league from his side.</p>
<p>There’s no guarantee he even features and the Champions League game this week should provide more information.</p>
<p>If he does though, he’s well set to deliver and as a result, we will see people scrambling for their Wildcards.</p>
<p>If you’re a believer in historic trends, he scored in the reverse fixture and recorded a brace away against Bournemouth last season.</p>
