<h3>Gameweek 28 Performance: 48 points</h3>

<h3>Brief review of Double Gameweek 28</h3>
<p>The '<strong>forgotten' gameweek</strong> will certainly not live long in future memory.</p>
<p>All the major captaincy choices failed to return. Fantasy managers justifiably continued to load up with Gameweek 29 assets rather than playing the immediate fixtures in front of them.  Most of the double-figure returns came from defenders last weekend.</p>

<h3><strong>My Team in Double </strong><strong>Gameweek 28</strong></h3>
<p>I felt it was a good week to '<strong>Roll the Dice'</strong> and load up on Tottenham Hotspur players early. A late change of heart meant that I <strong>sacrificed Mohamed Salah</strong> a week early and brought in <strong>Heung-Min Son AND Gareth Bale</strong> using two free transfers.</p>
<p>Following my belief in Tottenham's form, I went <strong>'All-in'</strong> with the <strong>captaincy on Harry Kane</strong> rather than the 'safe' choice of Bruno Fernandes I recommended.</p>
<p>Things did not go well for Tottenham and my FPL team in the North London Derby.  An injury to Son, Bale going missing (before being substituted early) and a Kane blank compounded the misery.  I can only thank my lucky stars that the other popular armband choices of Fernandes, Kevin De Bruyne and Salah also failed to return.</p>
<p>My Manchester City defensive assets <strong>John Stones and Joao Cancelo</strong>, (who last week didn't play) this time came to my rescue - contributing<strong> 26 points</strong> between them.</p>
<p>Overall - it was another tiny red arrow down to 48k. Given the exposure I risked with the moves I made, I feel I really got away with one..</p>

<h3>Blank Gameweek<strong> 29 Overview</strong></h3>
<p>We are now finally here - at Gameweek 29! This tiny set of matches has been part of our thinking since the Christmas period. There was a flurry of free-hits and wildcards that were played around that time which shaped current squads.</p>
<p>The fixtures for this week:</p>
<p><strong>Brighton v Newcastle United</strong></p>
<p><strong>Fulham v Leeds United</strong></p>
<p><strong>West Ham United v Arsenal</strong></p>
<p><strong>Aston Villa v Tottenham</strong></p>
<p>It is hard to believe that this group of mid-table/relegation candidates could dominate so many weeks of transfer planning.  The rescheduling of the Aston Villa v Tottenham match into this coming week has made things more manageable for managers without a Free-hit chip at their disposal.  Planning has nevertheless felt restrictive in recent rounds of fixtures.</p>
<p>Teams are now looking very similar in terms of gameweek 29 players - so those still looking to free-hit this week should try some differentials to the template in order to make significant gains.</p>
<h3></h3>
<h3><strong>Strategy for a Blank</strong></h3>
<p><strong>My own team has eight 'playing' this </strong><b>weekend</b> - which includes the <strong>likely injured Heung-Min Son</strong>. I am inclined to think this will be <strong>enough</strong> to get through this week without losing too many ranking places.</p>
<p>As I am <strong>likely to wildcard in Gameweek 30 or 31</strong>, any hits I take (to get up to eleven players) will need to <strong>pay back in this week only</strong> - which makes me doubt whether they are worth 4 points*</p>
<p>(*) It is often argued that if you include two likely appearance points on a player starting (over no player at all), the cost is only two points (not four) but this will still require a clean-sheet for a defender or an assist / goal / bonus to be 'in-profit'.</p>
<p><strong>A few things might make me change my mind on taking a hit:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>The unlikely announcement of the Aston Villa v Everton double in GW30/31 before the deadline (getting a 3rd Villa player this week would therefore give me 2 extra games and be effectively 'free')</li>
<li>An injury or issue with Harry Kane (my likely captain)</li>
<li>A Mini league 'hedge' (Aaron Cresswell, is a risk I would like to cover)</li>
</ul>
