<h2>FPL Gameweek 3 tips: Key team news</h2>
Enzo Maresca ruled Cole Palmer out of Gameweek 3 after a groin issue kept him out of the starting lineup against West Ham last week.
The midfielder was also left out of the England squad for the upcoming international break.
With Palmer being assessed &#8216;day by day&#8217;, it&#8217;s possible he could be back for Gameweek 4.
A potentially short-term injury leaves all options open for FPL managers. Those with a decent alternative on the bench could hold him &#8211; but it could also be a chance to make an aggressive move.
A downgrade to a budget midfielder could enable an upgrade up front to Joao Pedro or Chris Wood for example.

Elsewhere, Bukayo Saka and Rayan Ait-Nouri were among the injury issues for FPL managers heading into managers&#8217; press conferences.
Mikel Arteta confirmed Saka would be out for a &#8216;few weeks&#8217; but would not need surgery to repair his hamstring.
Ait-Nouri is &#8216;fine&#8217; however and available for Manchester City.
Late breaking news on Friday was the expected absence of Wolves forward Jorgen Strand Larsen. He&#8217;s been heavily linked with a move to Newcastle and Vitor Pereira said he had a minor injury.
The Norwegian was <a href="https://x.com/LiamKeen_Star/status/1961514651394691298">not spotted with the squad</a> at the team hotel.

Antoine Semenyo and Pedro are the most transferred-in players at the time of writing, with Wood close behind.
Pedro netted a 15 point FPL haul in Gameweek 2, with Chelsea beating West Ham 1-5. His appeal would be boosted by the absence of Palmer given he could take penalties.
Budget picks are attracting attention, with Hugo Ekitike the most expensive popular transfer in at £8.7m.

Transfer activity has largely been driven by Palmer&#8217;s status, with 1.5m managers and counting taking him out of their teams.
Jeremie Frimpong continues to lose backers following his injury ahead of Gameweek 2.
And Saka has been transferred out of more than 700,000 teams as a result of his hamstring injury.

Free Hit could be popular this week, with United, Chelsea and Forest among the targets.
But much like how United&#8217;s midweek woes may have put some off a Fernandes captaincy, free hitting to triple up on the Red Devils may not appeal.
Cunha and Fernandes still make the top 20 for goal projections though, with the market odds expecting United to score two or more goals.
An early Wildcard is an option for teams riddled with injuries &#8211; but pay attention to the poor Gameweek 4 fixtures for many teams when planning.
A Free Hit in Gameweek 4 is therefore worth looking at too, while holding the Wildcard for a later date would allow more data to be gathered.

<h3>Blank and double gameweek news</h3>
It&#8217;s emerged that there could be an early blank and/or double gameweek before the deadline to use the first set of chips. This could come around Gameweek 17 and is dependent on Crystal Palace making the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
There&#8217;s two rounds to go before then though, with Milwall up next.
Saving the Triple Captain chip for this could be an option, as could the Free Hit. Bear in mind though that all managers will get a top up to five free transfers in Gameweek 16 ahead of the <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/whats-new-in-fpl-2025-26-more-transfers-new-assist-rules">Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)</a>, which could help get through it too.
