<h3>🥇 Ross Barkley and Konstantinos Mavropanos &#8211; 12 points</h3>
<p>Aston Villa&#8217;s Barkley was making his first start of the season and it was a fruitful one on an individual level, with a goal, defensive contributions and maximum bonus.</p>
<p>Villa fell to a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United though, with Michael Carrick&#8217;s men taking a major step towards Champions League qualification. Liverpool and Chelsea dropped points at the weekend, leaving the Red Devils five clear of fifth.</p>
<p>Barkley&#8217;s score was the joint-top return of the weekend, with West Ham centre-back Mavropanos scoring in the Hammers&#8217; 1-1 draw with Manchester City.</p>
<p>Mavropanos also hit defensive contributions and recorded two bonus points.</p>

<p>It was a congested leaderboard, with multiple players just one behind the leaders.</p>
<p>Among them was Liverpool midfielder Szoboszlai, who scored a free-kick in the 1-1 draw with Spurs &#8211; although <strong>Guglielmo Vicario </strong>arguably should have saved the attempt.</p>
<p><strong>Anthony Gordon </strong>and <strong>William Saliba </strong>were among the others to hit 11 pointers.</p>

<p><strong>Sven Botman</strong>, <strong>Chris Richards </strong>and <strong>Marcos Senesi </strong>were the players joining double assister Fernandes on 10 points.</p>
<p>Fernandes was the only one of the popular captain options to haul, setting up <strong>Casemiro </strong>and <strong>Matheus Cunha </strong>for their seventh goals of the season before <strong>Benjamin Sesko </strong>came off the bench to seal victory.</p>

<h2>FPL Gameweek 30 howlers</h2>
<h3>Gabriel Gudmundsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin</h3>
<p>Leeds came away from Selhurst Park with a point &#8211; but their 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace was far more eventful than the scoreline suggested.</p>
<p>Calvert-Lewin dragged a penalty wide in the 45th minute after a <strong>Will Hughes </strong>handball, extending his goalless run to four games.</p>
<p>Gudmundsson made things worse a few minutes later by picking up his second yellow card for a challenge on <strong>Ismaila Sarr</strong>.</p>
<p>Palace had a <strong>Jefferson Lerma </strong>goal ruled our in the second half for an offside against <strong>Brennan Johnson</strong>, meaning the points were split.</p>

<h3>Liverpool&#8217;s late clean-sheet wipeout</h3>
<p>Liverpool were among the most fancied teams to score two-plus goals, welcoming struggling Spurs to Anfield.</p>
<p>But Igor Tudor&#8217;s team secured what could be a vital point through <strong>Richarlison&#8217;s </strong>90th minute equaliser.</p>
<p>The data gave the Reds an edge but both sides registered an expected goals (xG) of over 1.0 &#8211; with Arne Slot&#8217;s men racking up 1.7 to Spurs&#8217; 1.18.</p>
<p><strong>Virgil van Dijk </strong>also fell two actions short of earning defensive contribution points, leaving the centre-back with a blank after his recent returns.</p>

<h3>Hugo Ekitike captainers</h3>
<p>Slot dropped both Ekitike and <strong>Mohamed Salah </strong>to the bench on Sunday &#8211; bad news for brave FPL managers who&#8217;d removed <strong>Erling Haaland </strong>and brought the Liverpool duo in.</p>
<p>Slot revealed that Ekitike missed training on Friday but also noted the tight turnaround to Liverpool&#8217;s midweek Champions League tie:</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;It is three games in seven days for us with on Wednesday a possibility of more than 90 minutes, but this game is crucial for us, so yes you are looking at how many games you have to play and how may games we have played with mainly the same players.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Ekitike came on in the 64th minute, blocking any returns from vice-captains.</p>
<p>One saving grace was that Haaland was among those who also failed to notch a goal or assist.</p>

<li>Anthony Gordon &#8211; playing up front for Newcastle &#8211; led the way for goal threat with an xG of 1.12</li>
<li>Richarlison had two big chances on his way to scoring Spurs&#8217; crucial equaliser against Liverpool</li>
<li>Max Dowman, 16, became the league&#8217;s youngest goalscorer by sealing Arsenal&#8217;s 2-0 victory against Everton</li>
<li>West Ham had the worst xG of the week (0.54), frustrating owners of City&#8217;s defenders</li>
<li>Bournemouth failed to score at Burnley despite the second best xG of 2.56</li>
<li>Daniel Munoz and Matty Cash were among the Gameweek 30 injury doubts &#8211; and both were left out of their respective squads</li>
