<p>Last week contained a few shocks and rotation was rife again, as it tends to be when teams play three times in a week. This is set to continue for the teams in Europe, and it’s crucial to monitor the minutes played and the game state.</p>
<p>With the majority of us owning the core players, it grows increasingly more important to invest in quality differentials with the fringe of the squad in order to make some gains. This article will help to pinpoint a few key candidates.</p>

<h2><strong>FPL Gameweek 33 fixtures analysed</strong></h2>
<h3>Newcastle v Spurs</h3>
<p>Both sides have managed to sneak into a run of form, although their circumstances are completely different, with Spurs having a full squad to choose from and Newcastle decimated.</p>
<p>From a motivation perspective, Newcastle desperately need to quality for any European competition to boost their revenue, which will help to offset spending.</p>
<p>It’s likely Spurs will get a Champions League place, but they can exert pressure on Villa to take fourth rather than the risk that comes with fifth.</p>
<p>Spurs won the reverse fixture 4-1. <strong>Son Heung-min (£10.1m)</strong> came away with 17 points. Newcastle won the home game last season 6-1 though, so we could be in for a high scoring affair.</p>
<p>Newcastle have an additional day of recovery but both sides have the week off prior to this game.</p>

<p><strong>Additional Factors to consider:</strong></p>
<p>Both teams have strong recent xG stats with Spurs edging it, and both favour playing at home and away respectively.</p>
<p>Newcastle’s home xG stats are the second best in the league and they’re fourth for goals scored. They’ve scored 39 in 16 and have only lost three games. Spurs are only sixth in terms of xG away but third for goals scored.</p>
<p>Defensively, Newcastle’s recent xGC has improved to mid table and Spurs are an impressive fifth best. The return of their defenders and defensive midfielder has tightened things up, alongside the tactical tweak with the full backs.</p>
<p>Newcastle’s home xGC stats are fairly aligned to the above. They’re unlikely to keep a clean sheet but they should keep things respectable. The away xGC stats for Spurs aren’t dissimilar.</p>
<p>The Magpies have won seven penalties this season and Spurs have conceded six, which could bode well for chief penalty winner <strong>Anthony Gordon (£6.0m)</strong> and taker <strong>Alexander Isak (£7.9m)</strong>.</p>
<p>Spurs are poor at defending aerial attempts. They also allow chance creation from their left and concede the most shots from their right.</p>
<p>Dependent on whether <strong>Harvey Barnes (£6.2m)</strong> starts, Gordon will either be the beneficiary of Spurs’ zonal weakness for conceding chances or key passes. This should be a cracking match up for him and he averages nearly seven points a home game.</p>
<p>With <strong>Kieran Trippier (£6.6m) </strong>injured, corners are another avenue for points for Gordon. The centre backs are the main threats in the air.</p>
<p>Newcastle’s weakness is their centre, even more so with the injury crisis. This is both for chances and shots conceded, which should favour both <strong>James Maddison (£7.9m)</strong> and Son.</p>
<p>I also feel that Newcastle will get caught on the break by Spurs’ pacey wingers.</p>
<p>I can’t see either team not scoring in this game and I’d expect over two goals.</p>
