The penultimate gameweek of the FPL season is well underway &#8211; and managers have some key injury worries going into the final week of the season.

<h2>Watkins wave &#8211; but a disappointing result</h2>
Watkins was by far the most popular pick ahead of Gameweek 37, with more than 750,000 transfers in.
No other player could rival his popularity, with Eberechi Eze well behind on 243,000 transfers.
FPL managers were expecting big things from the Aston Villa striker, who faced a Spurs side with one eye on the Europa League final this week.
And while he provided the assist for Ezri Konsa&#8217;s opener, a five-point return was not quite what his new owners were hoping for. Instead it was defender Konsa who top scored on 15 points.
Watkins had two shots on target and one big chance, with an expected goals (xG) tally of 0.23.

<h2>Vardy&#8217;s last party</h2>
Jamie Vardy and Beto earned some backers ahead of deadline, with the occasion likely playing a part in their transfers in.
It was Vardy&#8217;s last appearance for Leicester, after it was announced he would not play in Gameweek 38, while Beto was the top choice for Everton&#8217;s final game at Goodison Park.
One of them delivered &#8211; and perhaps unsurprisingly, it was Vardy.
He scored the Foxes&#8217; first in their 2-0 win against Southampton, his 200th goal for the club in his 500th game.
Beto meanwhile frustrated and instead it was Iliman Ndiaye who performed, scoring both of the Toffees&#8217; goals.
Two goals were ruled out for Beto, who otherwise racked up 1.03 xG without getting on the scoresheet.

<h2>Mbeumo misses penalty in Fulham defeat</h2>
Bryan Mbeumo missed a penalty as Fulham came from 2-1 down to beat Brentford 2-3 at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Mbeumo gave Brentford the lead in the first half, with Yoane Wissa providing the assist but Raul Jimenez drew the visitors level.
Kevin Schade would have had the assist for the penalty should Mbeumo have converted it but the German&#8217;s goal involvement streak of three matches came to an end here.
Wissa scored the Bees&#8217; second but was fortunate not to be sent off for a second bookable offence.
Tom Cairney and Harry Wilson completed the comeback for the Cottagers, with Adama Traore picking up two assists.

<h2>Isak and Saliba injury latest</h2>
Alexander Isak was left out of Newcastle&#8217;s squad for their match against Arsenal on Sunday.
Eddie Howe could not confirm that the Swede would be ready for Gameweek 38, stating:
<blockquote>&#8220;Yeah, that&#8217;s unknown. I don&#8217;t know at this moment in time.
&#8220;He only felt pain really after training. He felt fine during training and then just a bit of stiffness, really. So he went for a scan this morning really purely as a precaution.

William Saliba meanwhile was taken off at half-time, a game the Gunners went on to win 1-0.
Mikel Arteta said the centre-back &#8216;felt something in his hamstring&#8217; so would need to be assessed &#8211; not ideal for owners ahead of the last game of the season against Southampton (A).

<h2>FPL managers braced for Palace rotation?</h2>
Crystal Palace won the FA Cup on Saturday, beating Manchester City 1-0 in a highly eventful game at Wembley.
Eberechi Eze was the Eagles&#8217; goalscorer, while Dean Henderson saved an Omar Marmoush penalty &#8211; something for FPL managers to note after Erling Haaland handed the Egyptian the opportunity.
Pep Guardiola could not explain the decision post-match, noting that the players make such decisions between themselves.
But there were some interesting remarks from Henderson, who indicated Marmoush&#8217;s spot-kicks were predictable. He said:
<blockquote>“If Haaland might&#8217;ve stepped up, I didn&#8217;t know which way he&#8217;d go, but Marmoush, I knew which way he was going.”</blockquote>
The question now from an FPL perspective is how much will Palace rotate in the league in midweek &#8211; although it is now of course out of our hands.
