<h2>Chris Tan's fixture analysis: Gameweek 38</h2>
<p>This has been drafted after the first round of games have been played but prior to the second.</p>
<p>We correctly called that Everton and Arsenal were strong clean sheet contenders and the merits of considering one of their defenders over one of the dubious options with two fixtures.</p>
<p>We also identified Burnley’s weakness on their left and how <strong>Pedro Porro (£5.8m)</strong> could benefit from it, which he emphatically did.</p>
<p>This week it’s the infamous final gameweek where all hell breaks loose and we get the highest goal average of the year. If you have players who haul in one of the almost basketball-style scorelines, it could make all the difference to your final rank and mini-league position.</p>
<p>Generally, it’s the fixtures where neither team has anything to play for that leads to an exhibition atmosphere for the home side.</p>

<h2><strong>FPL Gameweek 38: Clean sheet and goalscoring odds</strong></h2>
<p>Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal look most likely to score two or more goals, according to the odds. They're also the most likely to keep a clean sheet.</p>

<p>These stats are for the last six gameweeks, prior to the second matches of Gameweek 37. There's a clear drop-off, in terms of expected goals (xG), after Chelsea.</p>

<p>According to this metric, it should be a case of targeting Luton, West Ham, Burnley, Spurs, Manchester United, Sheffield United and Wolves.</p>

<h2><strong>FPL Gameweek 38 fixtures analysed</strong></h2>
<h3>Arsenal v Everton</h3>
<p>Arsenal will need to win this final game - and hope that City don’t win theirs.</p>
<p>Everton have nothing to play for but they won’t roll over, as the prize money for league position will make a difference. If Brentford draw and they concede more than three, they could drop a place.</p>
<p>I anticipate a comfortable win for the Gunners but it might not be the thrashing some are expecting. Had City drawn with Spurs, goal difference was more likely to be a factor.</p>
<p>Arsenal won the reverse fixture 0-1 with a goal from <strong>Leandro Trossard (£6.5m)</strong>, assisted by <strong>Bukayo Saka (£9.0m)</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Additional factors to consider</strong></p>
<p>Arsenal’s recent xG ranks third best and their goal output is consistent with their xG. Their home xG and goals scored rank fourth best in the league.</p>
<p>Everton’s recent xGC is sixth best but they’re a lot better at home. Their away xGC is seventh best in the league though.</p>
<p>The Toffees allow the most chances from their left, then their centre. That bodes well for Saka and<strong> Kai Havertz (£7.5m)</strong>.</p>
<p>For those torn between the two, I would still lean towards Saka, as he leads the expected stats and is on penalties. Havertz is ahead in terms of actual goal involvement though.</p>
<p>On that note, Everton have already conceded eight penalties (second most) this season and Arsenal have won 10 (second most). So I would definitely side with the player on spot-kick duties.</p>
<p>It goes without saying that I expect a clean sheet from Arsenal and that could be meaningful, as I don’t expect more than two this week.</p>
