The 2022/23 Premier League season came to an end on Sunday (May 28) and with it the conclusion of another roller-coaster Fantasy Premier League campaign.
FPL managers from 17 countries occupied the FPL number-one spot in FPL at the end of the 38 gameweeks, however it was Ali Jahangirov of Azerbaijan who was crowned the overall winner.
Arsenal fan Ali &#8211; <a href="https://twitter.com/FplGunz">FPL Gunz</a> on Twitter &#8211; has led the way since Gameweek 33 but first hit the top spot in Gameweek 28.

<h2>FPL Gameweek 38: How Fantasy Premier League was won</h2>
Ali went into Gameweek 38 with an 18 point lead over his nearest rival.
Early team news began filtering through ahead of deadline, including rumours top scorer Erling Haaland had been benched for Manchester City&#8217;s trip to Brentford.
Ali made two moves at a cost of a four-point hit. Haaland was transferred out for Harry Kane, while Kaoru Mitoma was swapped for Martin Odegaard.
The captain&#8217;s armband went to Mohamed Salah, a decision which nearly ended Ali&#8217;s hopes as Kane netted 16 points to Salah&#8217;s five.

Second-placed Azzuri, of Egypt, captained Kane and finished just five points behind Ali.
But had Callum Wilson &#8211; owned by both the top two &#8211; not come off the Newcastle bench for a 21 minute cameo, the leaderboard would have looked very different.
Azzuri&#8217;s first bench player was Ethan Pinnock, who scored and kept a clean sheet against City for an unlikely 15 points.
It was not the first time Wilson had come to Ali&#8217;s aid either. A brave decision to bring in the Magpies man in Double Gameweek 36 gave him the advantage &#8211; his rivals had instead gone for Wilson&#8217;s teammates Alexander Isak.
