<p><strong>Erling Haaland (£14.1m) </strong>was again the most popular captaincy choice, although nearly 8% of FPL managers opted for last week&#8217;s hat-trick hero <strong>Son Heung-min (£9.1m)</strong>.</p>
<p>Son, playing up front against Sheffield United, failed to score and was subbed off after 80 minutes.</p>
<p>Haaland grabbed a goal against West Ham &#8211; but should have had much more.</p>
<p>The Manchester City striker dominated the key <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> charts this week, with six big chances coming his way. No other player had more than one at the weekend.</p>
<p>Haaland racked up an expected goals (xG) of 2.69 and expected FPL points of 15.87 but came away with just six.</p>
<p>The return left Son backers breathing a relative sigh of relief.</p>

<h2>FPL Gameweek 5 injuries: Martinelli and Henry forced off</h2>
<p><strong>Gabriel Martinelli (£7.9m) </strong>thought he had scored the opener for Arsenal against Everton but his goal was ruled out for offside.</p>
<p>It got worse for owners of the Brazilian though, as he was injured in the process and was forced off.</p>
<p>He was replaced by <strong>Leandro Trossard (£6.6m)</strong>, who scored the eventual winner. The Belgian could now be set for increased minutes.</p>
<p>Speaking after the game, Mikel Arteta said:</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;He felt something, he felt it in his hammy [hamstring] so he will need to be assessed.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Brentford&#8217;s<strong> Rico Henry (£4.6m) </strong>also has his pitch time cut short, coming off just before half-time against Newcastle with a knee injury.</p>
<p>Thomas Frank reported post-match:</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;We know it&#8217;s a knee injury but we don&#8217;t know what the situation exactly is. We will assess him on Monday.</p>
<p>“Let&#8217;s see on Monday before we make too many conclusions.”</p></blockquote>

<h2>FPL Gameweek 5: Ramsdale and Chilwell benched, Estupinan absent</h2>
<p>There were some surprises in the weekend lineups, particularly in the case of Arsenal and Chelsea.</p>
<p>Arteta dropped <strong>Aaron Ramsdale (£5.0m)</strong>, preferring summer signing <strong>David Raya (£4.8m)</strong>.</p>
<p>Raya made a save and kept a clean sheet, scoring eight FPL points &#8211; including two bonus.</p>
<p>Whether Raya has established himself as the Gunners&#8217; new number one however is not clear, with rotation to be expected judging by Arteta&#8217;s comments after the match. He said:</p>

<p class="" data-reactid=".219j8adi94y.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-7"><span data-reactid=".219j8adi94y.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-7.0">&#8220;I cannot have two players like this in one position and not play them. David has tremendous qualities like Aaron has, like Karl [Hein] has, but we have to use them you know.&#8221;</span></p>

<p data-reactid=".219j8adi94y.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-7">Arteta went on to say he had in the past even regretted not switching his keeper mid-match.</p>
<p data-reactid=".219j8adi94y.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-7">Ramsdale is in 16% of FPL teams &#8211; owners will be keeping a close eye on Arsenal&#8217;s midweek Champions League game and their next Premier League lineup.</p>

<p><strong>Ben Chilwell (£5.8m)</strong> had to settle for 10 minutes off the bench, with <strong>Mykhailo Mudryk (£6.4m) </strong>starting in the advanced left role Chilwell has been occupying this season.</p>
<p>Mauricio Pochettino spoke before the game of picking Mudryk in order to play &#8216;more offensive&#8217; &#8211; but the change failed to translate into goals, as the Blues were held to a 0-0 draw with Bournemouth.</p>
<p>Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi had spoken about <strong>Pervis Estupinan&#8217;s (£5.3m) </strong>punishing international break schedule ahead of the 3-1 victory over Manchester United.</p>
<p>And as many Estupinan owners had feared, the Ecuadorian was not in the matchday squad.</p>
<h2>FPL Gameweek 5: Jackson approaching a one-match ban</h2>
<p>Chelsea&#8217;s <strong>Nicolas Jackson (£7.1m) </strong>has more yellow cards (four) than goals (one) &#8211; and one more booking would see the Chelsea striker missing a game.</p>
<p>Pochettino said after the game that Jackson was &#8216;disappointed and frustrated&#8217; and had fallen foul of new rules about complaining to officials.</p>
<p>Dissent, rather than bad tackling, has been the cause of the forward&#8217;s bookings to date.</p>
<p><strong>Anthony Gordon (£5.5m) </strong>is also just one booking away from a ban.</p>

<h2>FPL Gameweek 5: Neto and Edouard continue fine form</h2>
<p>Wolves&#8217; <strong>Pedro Neto (£5.5m) </strong>and Crystal Palace forward <strong>Odsonne Edouard (£5.5m) </strong>are in 0.9% and 3.8% of teams respectively.</p>
<p>But both had a strong Gameweek 5, continuing their excellent starts to the season.</p>
<p>Neto picked up his fourth assist of the campaign &#8211; and only <strong>Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) </strong>has notched a higher expected assists (xA) to date.</p>
<p>The Wolves midfielder has the joint-most assists in the league, having made more key passes than any other player.</p>

<p>Edouard scored against Aston Villa, taking him to four goals for the season.</p>
<p>He is now tied with <strong>Bryan Mbeumo (£6.9m) </strong>and <strong>Evan Ferguson (£6.0m)</strong>, behind only Haaland.</p>
<p>Only Haaland has had more shots in the box than Edouard (19), while the Palace man&#8217;s xG of 3.1 is the fourth-best in the league, behind Jackson, Mbeumo and Haaland.</p>
<p>Palace have mixed fixtures but play Fulham and Nottingham Forest at home in the next three &#8211; he could be an option for those looking to play their Wildcard soon.</p>
