<p>Last week we highlighted how many big chances West Ham concede, which <strong>Nicolas Jackson (£7.6m) </strong>exploited, and that Newcastle have conceded the most shots in the league from their centre, which <strong>Raul Jimenez (£5.4m)</strong> benefited from.</p>

<h2><strong>Team defensive stats sorted by total expected goals conceded (xGC)</strong></h2>
<p>City and Liverpool are also the best defences, although Arsenal’s stats are skewed by their games with 10 men and I would put them in that category.</p>
<p>There are a handful of sides that offer great value given the price of their defenders and their defensive stats.</p>
<p>The top 10 are all conceding a lot of chances. Wolves are conceding an average of 2.80 goals per game, which is another warning for those considering selling Salah.</p>

<h2><strong>Individual player stats sorted by expected points (xPts)</strong></h2>
<p>It’s very much a case of <strong>Erling Haaland (£15.3m)</strong> and the rest.</p>
<p>Something worth considering though is whether <strong>Luis Diaz (£7.9m)</strong> can cover Salah. He certainly has so far and this system seems primed for him.</p>

<h2><strong>FPL Gameweek 6 fixtures analysed</strong></h2>
<h3>Newcastle v Manchester City</h3>
<p>City played one of the strangest games I’ve seen in a while against Arsenal. They left it very late to claw back the draw and there were several controversial flashpoints.</p>
<p>He didn’t get many chances but Haaland’s opener was a reminder that he can do it against anyone. The loss of <strong>Rodri (£6.4m)</strong> is going to be difficult to deal with though.</p>
<p>Newcastle haven’t been playing well but have been winning games and the match against Fulham was a reality check as they were completely dominant, especially from the wide areas.</p>
<p>The only positive is the form of <strong>Harvey Barnes (£6.5m)</strong>, although that has come at the cost of <strong>Anthony Gordon’s (£7.4m)</strong> performances.</p>
<p>Last season, City beat Newcastle 2-3 away and 1-0 at home. Haaland didn’t feature in the away game and blanked the home match.</p>
<p>Newcastle's Carabao Cup game against AFC Wimbledon has been postponed to next week after the League Two side's pitch was decimated by flooding.</p>
<p>City played on Tuesday night but rested most of their first team.</p>

<p><strong>Additional factors to consider</strong></p>
<p>City’s attacking stats are elite and Newcastle’s defensive stats are poor. They’re conceding a high shot volume but relatively low-quality chances, which is normally fine but against City, they will get punished.</p>
<p>Newcastle allow the most shots from their left (joint most in the league) and their centre. They also struggle to defend set-pieces.</p>
<p><strong>Savinho (£6.5m)</strong> could easily cause the problems <strong>Adama Traore (£5.1m) </strong>did from the right-wing last game.</p>
<p>I can’t see the Magpies' centre-back pairing stopping Haaland and if<strong> Kevin De Bruyne (£9.5m)</strong> recovers in time, he will be able to exploit their set-piece weakness, with Haaland the likely beneficiary.</p>
<p>Haaland’s goal involvement is a joke at 51% expected and 77% actual. It’s genuinely a shock if City score and he’s not involved.</p>
<p><strong>Outcome</strong></p>
<p>Newcastle’s attacking stats are poor and you’d expect a comfortable win from City with a clean sheet here.</p>
<p>However, Newcastle do have the home advantage and City are prone to conceding the odd goal, so I can see more of a 1-3 scoreline in the dreaded early kick-off. The odds think it will be a lot closer, with a narrow 1-2 expected.</p>
