<h2>Chris Tan's fixture analysis: Gameweek 7</h2>
<p>Last week was a bit of a disaster for the wildcarders, apart from those that managed to squeeze in <strong>Cole Palmer (£10.7m)</strong>.</p>
<p>A few mid-priced midfielders continue to impress and the talismans are starting to emerge.</p>
<p>We correctly identified that West Ham and Ipswich's tendency to leak big chances would fall into the hands of <strong>Bryan Mbeumo (£7.2m)</strong> and <strong>Ollie Watkins (£9.0m)</strong>.</p>

<h2><strong>Individual player stats sorted by expected points (xPts)</strong></h2>
<p><strong>Erling Haaland (£15.3m)</strong> is still dominant and clearly the talisman for Manchester City.</p>
<p><strong>Mohamed Salah (£12.7m)</strong> and Palmer are pushing him close, and two of the forwards are hoovering up the big chances.</p>

<h2><strong>FPL Gameweek 7 fixtures analysed</strong></h2>
<h3>Crystal Palace v Liverpool</h3>
<p>Liverpool made hard work of beating Wolves after some miscommunication between <strong>Alisson (£5.5m)</strong> and <strong>Ibrahima Konaté (£5.2m) </strong>who is starting to emerge as a real dominant force, winning duels and aerial battles.</p>
<p><strong>Mohamed Salah (£12.8m)</strong> could have had more from a gifted chance but it is noticeable that he doesn’t seem to have quite the same capacity to directly beat a man currently.</p>
<p>Crystal Palace started well in their game, however Everton bucked the trend and came back from behind after having the same done to them previously. Oliver Glasner was damning in his interview and suggested their good end of season form misrepresented where they actually are as a team. <strong>Eberechi Eze (£6.9m)</strong> had a particularly poor game and many will be losing patience with him.</p>
<p>Palace won the away game 0-1 last season but lost 1-2 at home. Eze scored in the away game and <strong>Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.4m)</strong> converted a penalty away (is it Eze’s turn next?).</p>
<p>Salah scored in that one for Liverpool and has a good record against Crystal Palace.</p>
<p>This is the dreaded early kick off. Liverpool have a Champions League game at home on Wednesday night, which leaves them just two days to recover for this.</p>
<p>They will have to travel to London too. Palace have the week off, which is a decent advantage.</p>
<p><strong>Additional Factors to consider:</strong></p>
<p>Liverpool sit second in the attacking stats and they’ve consistently been at the top all season. They generate a high amount of big chances.</p>
<p>Palace’s defensive stats are fairly average. They tend to concede at least one per game and allow a high amount of big chances, which could be exploited by Liverpool.</p>
<p>Palace don’t have any obvious positional weaknesses. They’re fairly poor at defending set-pieces and headed attempts, although neither of Everton’s goals came via this route.</p>
<p>The Liverpool fullbacks share the corners, and are more than capable of putting in open play crosses. Both centre-backs are dangerous in the air.</p>
<p>Salah and <strong>Luis Díaz (£8.0m)</strong> average the most big chances for Liverpool and should benefit from Palace’s main weakness. Salah leads the team for expected and actual goal involvement (40% / 67%).</p>
<p><strong>Outcome:</strong></p>
<p>Crystal Palace’s attacking stats aren’t amazing, whereas Liverpool’s defensive stats are exceptional.</p>
<p>Therefore, I feel this fixture has decent clean sheet potential, although I am wary about the minimal recovery time for Liverpool.</p>
<p>Overall, I can see this being a 0-2. The bookies’ are indicating more of a 1-2.</p>
