<h2>What to do with premium midfielders?</h2>
<p>Plenty of managers are currently holding a midfielder with an injury concern, with Arsenal's <strong>Bukayo Saka </strong>remaining in almost 30% of sides.</p>
<p>We had an update from Mikel Arteta in midweek that Saka hasn't been able to train yet ahead of the visit of Liverpool. We await his pre-match press conference.</p>

<p>Arteta does however have a track record of providing unreliable information, especially ahead of such a significant game, with Liverpool the current league leaders.</p>
<p>The Friday deadline is a hindrance here but if we do see images of Bukayo Saka in training, I believe he's still a great long-term hold and there is the option to do that.</p>

<p>His most natural replacement going into FPL Gameweek 9 is Spurs' talisman <strong>Son</strong> <strong>Heung-min</strong>,who returned from injury with a bang against West Ham last time out.</p>
<p>Spurs have the perfect blend of form and fixtures, making their assets attractive over the next three gameweeks, while a double up on their attack could be a consideration.</p>
<p>He has been given the midweek Europa League off, which is a positive after another injury spell, with Spurs having the personnel to rotate.</p>
<p>Manager Ange Postecoglou mentioned that Son had some soreness after the match but also stated it was never planned for him to be involved against AZ Alkmaar.</p>
<p>Personally, I would wait for <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/premier-league-predicted-lineups">Spurs and Arsenal's press conferences</a> on Friday before making any potential switch, with this remaining the obvious like-for-like move.</p>

<p>However, if you don't currently own <strong>Cole Palmer </strong>and have the funds to upgrade Saka or release cash from another player, then he becomes the go-to pick.</p>
<p>Given Palmer's pedigree in FPL since arriving at Chelsea - and his lack of Euorpean midweek involvement - I'd be happy to make that move more in advance of Friday's Gameweek 9 deadline.</p>
<p>Palmer has delivered the most goal involvements of any player this season, with six goals and five assists.</p>
<p>He also leads the way for shots and big chances on goal over the last four gameweeks.</p>
<p>Chelsea host Newcastle this weekend, with Palmer producing a goal and an assist for their previous visit to Stamford Bridge.</p>

<p>The Blues don't have the same appealing fixtures as Spurs in the short-term, but their long-term run is favourable, extending to mid-January, with Palmer a consistent 90 minute man.</p>
<p>Owners of Palmer and Saka in FPL could also consider a switch from Saka to <strong>Mohamed Salah</strong>, releasing funds from another position, with Salah producing five double-digit hauls in eight.</p>
<p>The trip to Arsenal isn't the greatest entry point, with the Egyptian failing to score at the Emirates in his last three visits, but he is one of the most consistent players in the game right now.</p>
<p>The only challenge here is that owning Haaland, Salah and Palmer does severely impact the balance of the rest of the squad, especially in a week where he's not a natural captain pick.</p>
