<h2>Gameweek 8 Review &#8211; FPL Strategy</h2>
<p>A good result for us this week, with the new and improved Wildcard Team taking us from <strong>81k to 68k</strong>! I feel like the team is well set up now ahead of the next few weeks. The defence in particular had a strong week.</p>

<p>As we can see, <strong>Norwich </strong><strong>have given up the most FPL Points to opposition Goalkeepers so far</strong>. <strong>Burnley,</strong> <strong>Southampton, Wolves and Arsenal</strong> make up the remaining five.</p>
<p>As you can see, Chelsea top the table for FPL Points scored at the Goalkeeper position so far. I&#8217;m hoping that <strong>Illan Meslier (£5m)</strong> can deliver well in his next two fixtures, and he also picked up a save point in the game against Southampton last Gameweek.</p>

<p>No surprises in the Points Scored table, with <strong>Chelsea</strong>, <strong>Liverpool</strong> and <strong>Manchester</strong> <strong>City</strong> topping the scoring already. <strong>Brighton and Aston Villa </strong>make up the top five. As expected, <strong>Norwich </strong>sit bottom of the table for points conceded as they continue to be the whipping boys of the league.</p>
<p><strong>Southampton </strong>play three of the five teams conceding the most FPL Points to opposition defensive units so far this season. <strong>Brentford&#8217;s </strong>fixtures also turn after the <strong>Leicester </strong>game this week.</p>

<p>The Midfield Table shows <strong>Liverpool</strong> clear at the top for most FPL Points scored, mainly due to <strong>Mo Salah (£12.8m)</strong> and his red hot start. Salah is averaging just over 10 points per game so far.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p><strong>Man City, Man United, Everton</strong> and <strong>West</strong> <strong>Ham</strong> make up the top five in terms of Points Scored. The Toffees scored even more returns with <strong>Abdoulaye Doucoure (£5.6m),</strong> <strong>Andros Townsend (£5.5m) (as we mentioned last week) and Demarai Gray (£5.8m). </strong>With Doucoure now injured, could we see a downturn in <strong>Everton&#8217;s </strong>fortunes?</p>
<p><strong>Burnley </strong>have conceded the most FPL Points to opposition Midfield units so far. <strong>Norwich, Leeds, Newcastle and Watford </strong>make up the five teams worth targeting.</p>
<p><strong>Brentford, Chelsea and Southampton </strong>all come up against three of the five teams conceding the most FPL Points to opposition midfield units, which bodes well for the likes of <strong>Bryan Mbeumo (£5.5m) &amp; Mason Mount (£7.4m) </strong>in The Metric Team.</p>

<p><strong>Leicester, </strong><b>Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Watford and Aston Villa </b>make up a motley crew of Forwards scoring the most FPL Points so far. A lot of these teams play two up top each week, which can dilute it slightly, so looking at individuals, <strong>Jamie Vardy (£10.6m) </strong>is our leading Forward on 56 points. <strong>Michail Antonio (£8.1m) </strong>is second on 50 points.</p>
<p><strong>Newcastle, Watford, Norwich, Crystal Palace and Leicester </strong>make up the five teams conceding the most FPL Points to opposition Forwards. Interesting to see four of the five teams feature in both points scored and points conceded tables, indicating strength in attacking but leakiness at the back!</p>
<p><strong>Arsenal, Brentford and Chelsea </strong>play three of the five teams conceding the most FPL Points to opposition Forwards in their next five games. Does anyone fancy a punt on <strong>Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£9.9m)?</strong></p>

<p>With the Home/Away Points Per Game (PPG) Data I note how badly <strong>Wolves</strong> have performed at home. <strong>Norwich</strong> have been poor both home and away, with <strong>Liverpool</strong> hardly conceding any FPL Points to any position regardless of where their games are.</p>
<p>With four games both home and away the data for this table is still a relatively small sample size, but I do refer to this when I want to look at specific fixtures.</p>

<p>So here is the team line up for Gameweek 9:</p>

<p>A bit of a benching headache this week, but having <strong>Chelsea and Man City </strong>defenders, you&#8217;re never far from a random rotation. A typical example of this was <strong>Ruben Dias (£6.2m) </strong>being benched at home to Burnley. With <strong>Adam Armstrong (£6m) </strong>being inexplicably benched as well, we may need more of our bench than expected this week. But on paper at least, the team looks in good shape, which it should do a week after a wildcard.</p>

<p>With the injury to Lukaku, I&#8217;ve been forced into the transfer market this week. I&#8217;ve gone back to the Forward&#8217;s <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/"><strong>Fixture Ticker</strong></a> above and have made the following move:</p>
<p><strong>Romelu Lukaku out, Ivan Toney in</strong>.</p>

<h2>Captaincy &#8211; FPL Gameweek 9</h2>
<p>This could be trickier than originally anticipated, depending on if <strong>Romelu Lukaku (£11.7m) </strong>features in <strong>Chelsea&#8217;s </strong>Champions League fixture.</p>
<p><strong>Thomas Tuchel</strong> has mentioned that Lukaku is &#8220;mentally tired&#8221; after a lot of football, in an answer to a question about why Lukaku hasn&#8217;t scored as many goals as expected.</p>
<p>If Lukaku is benched in the Champions League, then I will captain him at home to Norwich. If he plays, I will likely captain <strong>Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) </strong>away to Manchester United.</p>
<p>Only <strong>Watford </strong>have conceded more shots on target over the last three Gameweeks than United, so Salah could continue his rich vein of form at Old Trafford.</p>

<p>With Lukaku being out, I am now captaining <strong>Salah</strong> away to Manchester United. The Egyptian is on fire so I&#8217;m backing the man in form this week.<strong> Michail Antonio</strong> is my vice captain.</p>
