<p>Our FPL Player Comparison for Double Gameweek 36 article uses the <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-player-comparision-tool/">Hub’s Comparison Tool</a> to compare two key transfer targets. This week, <a href="https://twitter.com/CoysFPL">Dan</a> compares Ollie Watkins (£7.5m) and Richarlison (£7.5m).</p>
<h2>Ollie Watkins (£7.5m) vs Richarlison (£7.5m) | Gameweek 36 Comparison</h2>
<p>Ahead of Gameweek 36, many FPL managers are focusing their attention on mid-priced forwards, and I think Ollie Watkins (£7.5m) and Richarlison (£7.6m) are now the pick of them for the rest of the season, so will be comparing the pair this week.</p>
<p><b>Watkins </b>has only missed 9 minutes of  football in Villa&#8217;s last nine league games so is as nailed as can be; netting four times in that time period. He is arguably the best pick of Villa&#8217;s attack; a team a lot of Fantasy managers have their eyes on ahead of consecutive double gameweeks. They travel to Turf Moor before hosting Liverpool this gameweek, and then face Burnley again alongside Crystal Palace in Gameweek 37. They end the season away to Manchester City.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, <b>Richarlison </b>has come on dramatically recently, scoring five and assisting one in his last six starts. That is despite facing four of the top seven in those six starts. Lampard has no reason to drop the Brazilian given the position they find themselves in, and it looks like he&#8217;ll escape a ban for throwing a flare into the crowd after scoring against Chelsea. Everton, like Villa, are one of only three teams with consecutive double games as the Toffees go into a winnable double pair of fixtures. They travel to Leicester and Watford this week before facing Brentford and Crystal Palace in Gameweek 37. They end the season away at fourth-placed favourites Arsenal in what could be a crunch match at both ends of the table.</p>
<p>Given the decent form shown by both, as well as the schedules for the rest of the season, they both look like great options to end the season with.</p>

<p>Watkins has made four more appearances than Richarlison this season, playing about 400 minutes more. In terms of goals so far, Watkins has one more, whilst Richarlison has a couple more assists.</p>
<p>Watkins has registered nine more shots, and the same number more on target. He also has a better xG by just under three, but their xA is almost identical. The Villa man has also had an extra four big chances, but Richarlison has created two more.</p>
<p>Given the lack of difference in their overall <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a>, it&#8217;s important that I delve further into this comparison.</p>

<h2><strong>Price Comparison</strong></h2>
<p>The pair are currently the exact same price at the moment, so that factor doesn&#8217;t come into consideration.</p>

<p>The pairs&#8217; heatmaps look very similar, although Richarlison has more influence in the corner of the pitch. This is due to him playing a significant amount of time as a left winger, although he is currently playing as a centre forward whilst Dominic Calvert-Lewin eases back into full fitness. Once again, I don&#8217;t think the positioning of the pair can be used a determining factor.</p>
<h2><strong>Goal Threat</strong><strong> Comparison </strong></h2>

<p>The table above shows the pair&#8217;s underlying goal threat per 90 since Lampard joined Everton. Richarlison is shown in the top row, currently averaging just 0.2 extra shots per game, 0.11 on target, as well as 0.01 big chances and 0.02 xG. On the other hand, Watkins has averaged 0.4 extra shots in the box and has 0.05 more goals to show for.</p>

<p>The table is the pair&#8217;s <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> since Gameweek 31, underlining how close their numbers really are. Once again, Richarlison is represented in the top row, averaging just 0.07 xG per 90 more, and 0.1 more big chances. It is worth pointing out that Richarlison did face West Ham, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea in that period, whilst Watkins only faced one top seven team in Tottenham.</p>
<p>Due to that, it&#8217;s probably fair to say that Richarlison is edging it for goal threat at the moment. Another thing to point out is that Richarlison is Everton&#8217;s designated penalty taker. Watkins scored a penalty in April against Wolves, but Danny Ings wasn&#8217;t on the pitch, so it&#8217;s difficult to predict whether he&#8217;d take the next one.</p>
<h2><strong>Creativity</strong><strong> Comparison</strong></h2>

<p>Represented by the top row, Watkins has been the more creative asset since Lampard&#8217;s arrival, according to our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/">OPTA stats tool</a>.</p>
<p>Both provide little assist potential on the whole, but Watkins has created 0.19 more big chances per 90, registering an xA 0.09 more than Richarlison&#8217;s. Despite that, Richarlison has two assists to account for in that time, whereas Watkins has none due to the lack of clinical edge shown by his teammates.</p>
<h2>Fixtures</h2>

<p>Everton are now at the stage where every game is like a cup-final. They&#8217;ll go into the Leicester game with confidence after an excellent performance and win against Chelsea, and I&#8217;d be surprised if they go down. Meanwhile, Villa have got pretty much nothing left to play for but I&#8217;m sure Gerrard will play his strongest side to end the season on a high note, after a disappointing couple of months.</p>
<p>Analysing Everton&#8217;s fixtures, only two teams have conceded a higher xG than Leicester in their last seven league games, and they&#8217;ve been lucky to concede only nine instead of their predicted 10.91. As well as that, only three teams have conceded more big chances in that time period. They&#8217;ve also conceded 29 headed attempts: ten more than any other team. That is an attribute that Richarlison is excellent at. Watford should be relegated by the time Everton face them in midweek. Since Hodgson&#8217;s appointment, only Leeds have conceded more than their 2.23 goals per game. They&#8217;ve also conceded the joint highest percentage of chances through the middle of the pitch, with 56%.</p>
<p>Next gameweek, Everton face tougher opposition at home to Palace. Palace have only conceded two big chances in their last five games. That is the best record in the division, with the likes of Liverpool and Man City conceding five times that between them. That being said, Everton will go into that game needing points in what I would expect will be a raucous Goodison Park. Brentford, on the other hand, have shown average defensive <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> of late, but it&#8217;s another home game in which Everton will need points in against teams on the beach.</p>
<p>On the other hand, Villa face relegation-threatened Burnley in a double header. Since Dyche&#8217;s departure, only two teams have conceded fewer goals, and only Liverpool have kept more than their two clean sheets. Given how important Burnley&#8217;s run-in is, I don&#8217;t think it is the best fixture for Villa. We all know how good Liverpool are; they haven&#8217;t conceded to a team outside of the top six in their last seven, and I&#8217;ve already mentioned how stubborn Palace have been lately.</p>

<p>Ultimately and undoubtedly, I would pick <strong>Richarlison</strong>.</p>
<p>Not only are his fixtures better in the double gameweeks, but his goal threat is more impressive when you consider how tough Everton&#8217;s run has been. He is also in a team in need of points, whereas Villa are not.</p>
