<p>The international break is drawing to a close ahead of FPL Gameweek 9 &#8211; and here&#8217;s a round-up of the key FPL takeaways from the internationals.</p>
<p>The goals flowed, with no fewer than 28 Premier League players on target for their countries, and others assisting.</p>

<h2>Mitrovic scores four in two games</h2>
<p><strong>Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.9m)</strong> scored a hat-trick in Serbia&#8217;s 4-1 win over Sweden on Saturday &#8211; but there was cause for concern for FPL managers as word spread about him sustaining a knock.</p>
<p>The Fulham frontman was subbed off after 71 minutes, however he was back in the starting lineup against Norway on Tuesday.</p>
<p>And he played practically the whole game, grabbing his fourth goal of the international break before being substituted in the 93rd minute.</p>

<h2>South American&#8217;s grab three goals apiece</h2>
<p><strong>Richarlison (£8.5m) </strong>began international duty with a brace in a 3-0 win over Ghana, combining with <strong>Neymar</strong>.</p>
<p>Playing 63 minutes, he then started Brazil&#8217;s next game against Tunisia and managed a goal and an assist &#8211; plus a yellow card &#8211; before being taken off at half-time.</p>
<p>The Tottenham Hotspur striker has 17 goals in 38 appearances for his country and looks in prime position to start as Brazil&#8217;s number nine when the World Cup kicks-off in Qatar later this year.</p>
<p>Staying in South America, Leeds winger <strong>Luis Sinisterra (£6.5m)</strong> also had a stellar international break.</p>
<p>The Colombian, who has managed two goals in his last two league games, scored in his side&#8217;s 4-1 victory over Guatamala.</p>
<p>He then came off the bench to net twice in the 3-2 win over Mexico on Wednesday (September 28).</p>

<h2>Two apiece for premium FPL midfielders</h2>
<p>Son Heung-min and Mohamed Salah both scored twice for their respective nations.</p>
<p>Son played the entirety of South Korea&#8217;s two matches &#8211; friendlies against Costa Rica and Cameroon on Friday and Tuesday &#8211; scoring a goal in both.</p>
<p><strong>Mohamed Salah (£12.9) </strong>was on the scoresheet against Niger on Friday, converting a penalty and another goal from open play in the 3-0 win.</p>
<p>Egypt beat Liberia by the same scoreline on Tuesday but Salah did not feature. He was rested and travelled back to Liverpool, so should be well placed to start against Brighton on Saturday afternoon.</p>
<p>Son and Salah were the pick of the premiums over the international break &#8211; but they weren&#8217;t alone in finding the back of the net.</p>
<p>Manchester City midfielder <strong>Kevin De Bruyne (£12.3m) </strong>managed a goal and assist for Belgium against Wales on Thursday.</p>
<p>He played 90 minutes against the Netherlands on Sunday, a game which ended in a 1-0 defeat for the Red Devils.</p>
<p>Teammate <strong>Erling Haaland (£12.0m) </strong>scored in Norway&#8217;s 2-1 loss to Slovenia but came away without a goal in 90 minutes against Serbia on Tuesday &#8211; Mitrovic outscoring the Premier League&#8217;s leading goalscorer on that occasion.</p>
<p>It was not the most memorable period for England, as the Three Lions failed to win either of their Nations League matches against Italy and Germany.</p>
<p>But <strong>Harry Kane (£11.4m) </strong>scored a penalty in the 3-3 draw against Germany on Monday.</p>

<h2>Manchester United&#8217;s Portuguese &#8211; and Danish &#8211; magnificos</h2>
<p>A quartet of Manchester United players lit up Portugal&#8217;s 4-0 win over Czech Republic on Saturday.</p>
<p><strong>Diogo Dalot (£4.5m) </strong>scored twice, while <strong>Bruno Fernandes (£9.8m) </strong>added a goal and assisted his teammate&#8217;s second.</p>
<p>Not to be forgotten, <strong>Cristiano Ronaldo (£10.2m) </strong>registered an assist for <strong>Diogo Jota&#8217;s (£8.9m)</strong> goal.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, <strong>Christian Eriksen (£6.3m)</strong> scored a wonder strike in Denmark&#8217;s 2-1 defeat to Croatia on Thursday night, making it a successful few days for the Red Devils.</p>

<h2>Premier League clean sweep in England v Germany game</h2>
<p>A 3-3 thriller was played out between England and Germany on Monday, with all scorers from the Premier League.</p>
<p>An <strong>Ilkay Gundogan (£7.6m) </strong>penalty opened the proceedings, followed by the first of two <strong>Kai Havertz (£7.7m) </strong>goals.</p>
<p>But England hit back through <strong>Luke Shaw (£4.7m)</strong>, <strong>Mason Mount (£7.6m) </strong>and a <strong>Harry Kane (£11.4m) </strong>penalty, only to have what would have been a much-needed win for the Three Lions prevented by the Chelsea forward&#8217;s 87th minute effort.</p>

<p>Sweden and Newcastle striker <strong>Alexander Isak (£7.1m)  </strong>was a popular choice for Gameweek 8 wildcarders.</p>
<p>Before kicking a ball in the international break, Isak had been sent back to parent club Newcastle for treatment for a leg injury.</p>
<p>It is now feared he will be out <a href="https://twitter.com/LukeEdwardsTele/status/1574352474005274624">&#8216;for a few weeks&#8217;</a>.</p>
<p>In a similar fashion, <strong>Lucas Digne (£4.7m) </strong>sustained an<a href="https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-digne-injury-news-25111315"> ankle injury</a> before playing a match &#8211; it is thought he could also be absent for a number of weeks.</p>

<h2><strong>Ivan Perisic suffers injury scare &#8211; but returns in second game</strong></h2>
<p>Croatia and Tottenham Hotspur player <strong>Ivan Perisic (£5.6m) </strong>was subbed off after 71 minutes of Croatia&#8217;s 2-1 victory over Denmark.</p>
<p>Video circulating on social media appeared to show Perisic jogging away after a tackle by <strong>Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg (£5.5m)</strong> but signalling towards the bench shortly afterwards. He was replaced a few minutes later.</p>
<p>But Perisic was back for Sunday&#8217;s game against Austria, a game in which he grabbed an assist and played the full 90 minutes.</p>

<h2>Nathan Patterson injured in Scotland win</h2>
<p><strong>Nathan Patterson (£4.1m) </strong>has had a promising start to the season, emerging as a budget FPL option in defence &#8211; the Scot is in 7.6% of teams.</p>
<p>But the Everton man picked up an injury in Scotland&#8217;s 3-0 win over Ukraine last week &#8211; and although he managed to walk off the pitch, he ended up on a stretcher.</p>
<p>Scotland manager Steve Clarke told Premier Sports: &#8220;It doesn&#8217;t look too good when they go off on a stretcher, he obviously felt something on his leg.</p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ll just wait and see what the medics say and see how it pans out, hopefully not too serious and hopefully not out too long.&#8221;</p>
