FPL Gameweek 1 is just a couple of days away &#8211; and in celebration of the new Premier League season, our expert Fantasy Football Hub team have made their predictions on everything from Erling Haaland&#8217;s performance to who will be promoted and relegated.
Our panel consists of Hub editor Oli Poole and four of the Hub&#8217;s experts:

Last week, Hub YouTube host John Nellis made his own <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/video-fantasy-premier-league-predictions-fantasy-football-hub">predictions</a> on our channel &#8211; but we&#8217;ve done our own predictions in the article below, with some new questions ahead of Gameweek 1.

<h2>Who will be the surprise star of FPL this season?</h2>
Oli: If Haaland spends too long on the physio&#8217;s table, Julian Alvarez could well be a breakout star of 2022/23. But I&#8217;m going for Michael Olise. Check out the impressive big chances created stat spotted by @CoysFPL in his &#8216;under-the-radar&#8217; section of the <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/premier-league-fantasy-football-tips-crystal-palace-team-preview-2022-23">Palace team preview</a>.
Heisenberg: Gabriel Martinelli – maybe not a massive surprise but think this will be his proper breakthrough season.
Rich: Jesse Lingard.
Will: Leon Bailey.
Fergi: Callum Wilson.
<h2>Who is the biggest FPL trap this season?</h2>
Oli: The Manchester City midfielders remain a high rotation risk in my opinion, despite the likes of <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/gabriel-jesus-fpl-sky-tff-and-dream-team-prospects-as-arsenal-player">Gabriel Jesus</a> and <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/raheem-sterling-fpl-prospects-at-chelsea">Raheem Sterling</a> leaving. I think there are better options in the £8.0m bracket to start with than Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez.
Heisenberg: Philippe Coutinho–not the worst pick but fairly high ownership for a player who frustrated me for the majority of gameweeks I had him last season.
Rich: <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/the-best-everton-fpl-players-2022-23">Nathan Patterson</a>.
Will: Mason Mount.
Fergi: Luis Diaz.
<h2>Who will be the best FPL asset from a promoted team?</h2>
Oli: <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/the-best-nottingham-forest-fpl-players-2022-23">Jesse Lingard</a>. He&#8217;ll be pushing for a place on the plane to Qatar and we&#8217;ve seen what a confident, in-form Lingard can do (see his West Ham loan). Teammate Brennan Johnson will have a role to play, I&#8217;m sure, but I reckon the Englishman&#8217;s experience will shine through.
Heisenberg: <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/the-best-fulham-fpl-players">Aleksandar Mitrovic</a>. Not from Gameweek 1 as Fulham have tough <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker">fixtures</a> but when Fulham have a good run I’ll be looking to bring him in.
Rich: Neco Williams.
Will: Mitrovic.
Fergi: Brennan Johnson.

<h2>Which new signing will turn out to be the best FPL asset?</h2>

<li><a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/the-transfer-hub">The Transfer Hub: The lowdown on some of the biggest FPL signings in the summer transfer window</a></li>
</ul>
Oli: Haaland is an obvious pick but I think Ivan Perisic will be fantasy gold this season. I expect Spurs to be solid at the back and Perisic to be contributing plenty of goals and assists to go with his clean sheets.
Heisenberg: Gabriel Jesus.
Rich: <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/darwin-nunez-fpl-prospects">Darwin Nunez</a>.
Will: Haaland.
Fergi: Haaland.
<h2>Big at the back or big up top? Which will prove to be the best FPL strategy?</h2>
Oli: I&#8217;m very much into the big at the back approach this season. It&#8217;s a case of Robertson over Diaz for me. If all the premiums starting banging, it&#8217;s going to be very hard to resist them though!
Heisenberg: Balance! I always prefer a balanced team, so I’ll likely have some premium options across each position.
Rich: Big at the back.
Will: Big at the back.

<h2>Name your Premier League top four</h2>
Oli: Manchester City, Liverpool, Spurs and&#8230;I&#8217;ll let my heart rule my head and say Manchester United. They ideally need to sign a couple more players but I think they will surprise us under a fresh Erik ten Hag start.
Heisenberg: City, Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal.
Rich: City, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea.
Will: City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs.

<h2>Who will be relegated from the Premier League this season?</h2>
Oli: Fulham, Bournemouth and Everton. I think Forest and Steve Cooper will have enough about them to stay up.
Heisenberg: Southampton, Bournemouth, Forest.
Rich: Bournemouth, Fulham, Everton.
Will: Forest, Bournemouth, Fulham
Fergi: Bournemouth, Leeds, Everton,
<h2>Who will be the Premier League top goalscorer?</h2>
Oli: Harry Kane. His <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> have been insane since Conte arrived and I don&#8217;t think he&#8217;ll be giving a big head start to his golden-boot rivals this season. Haaland will run him close though.
Heisenberg: Harry Kane.
Rich: Erling Haaland
Will: Mohamed Salah.
Fergi: Harry Kane.
<h2>Who will bag the most Premier League assists?</h2>
Oli: Expect to see plenty of Son-to-Kane and Kane-to-Son goals this season but I&#8217;m going to go for Kevin De Bruyne.
Heisenberg: Kevin De Bruyne.
Rich: Kevin De Bruyne.
Will: Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Fergi: Kevin De Bruyne.
