<p>What are the FPL implications of <strong>Danny Ings (£8.0m)</strong> moving to <strong><a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/aston-villa-fantasy-football-tips-team-preview/">Aston Villa</a></strong> and the <strong>Wesley Fofana&#8217;s (£4.5m) </strong>injury?  Our resident <strong>Fantasy Premier League</strong> captaincy expert <a href="https://twitter.com/ChrisTanFPL">Chris Tan</a> provides an overview.</p>

<p>On Wednesday night, two major incidents occurred which will heavily impact the FPL template based on current ownership figures. Let&#8217;s delve straight into them.</p>
<h2></h2>
<h2>Danny Ings (£8.0m) Move to<a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/essential-aston-villa-fpl-stats/"> Aston Villa</a> &#8211; FPL Template Breakers</h2>
<p>After the infamous leak last season that led <strong>Dean Smith</strong> to proclaim, “I live in the real world, not the fantasy world,” it looks like <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/the-best-aston-villa-fpl-players/"><strong>Aston Villa</strong></a> have become water tight. They managed to complete this deal before there was any indication it was going to happen.</p>

<h3><strong>So what are the implications of this move?</strong></h3>
<p>At the time of writing this article, <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/who-are-the-best-fpl-mid-priced-forwards/"><strong>Ollie Watkins </strong></a><strong>(£7.5m)</strong> is the<strong> most highly owned (33.9%)</strong> <strong>forward</strong> in FPL.</p>
<p><strong>Danny Ings (£8.0m) </strong>plays exclusively in the centre forward position (6.6% ownership). It’s unlikely that Dean Smith will revamp the entire <strong>Villa</strong> system to accommodate playing both of them up front.</p>
<p>This suggests that it will be <strong>Ings</strong> leading the front line and he’s likely to claim <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/premier-league-set-piece-takers/"><strong>penalty duties</strong></a>.</p>
<p>Moreover, Watkins played as a wide forward for his first two seasons at <strong><a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/the-best-brentford-fpl-players/">Brentford</a></strong>. The Englishman is versatile enough to plug the <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-the-grealish-chain-reaction/"><strong>Grealish</strong> </a>sized gap on the left.</p>
<p>By the start of the season, I would expect the gap between ownership figures to be a lot closer.</p>

<p>During his first season at <strong>Brentford</strong>, Watkins played primarily on the left wing. He played <strong>34 games</strong> there in the Championship and recorded <strong>nine goals</strong> and<strong> three assists</strong>. This roughly amounts to a return every three games.</p>
<p>The following season, he split his time more evenly on both flanks. Watkins <strong>notched four goals</strong> and <strong>five assists</strong> from 21 left wing starts, almost a return every other game.</p>
<p>However, when he moved to centre forward the season after, he<strong> scored 24 goals</strong> and made <strong>three assists</strong> from <strong>45 games</strong>. He continued this form at <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/aston-villa-fantasy-football-tips-team-preview/"><strong>Villa</strong></a> where he returned <strong>14 goals</strong> and <strong>five assists</strong> from <strong>37 games</strong> in a central role.</p>
<p>This indicates that he still carries<strong> reasonable goal and assist potential</strong> from the wing, but it’s likely that his goalscoring rate will drop off considerably.</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;"><strong>How are Aston Villa likely to set up?</strong></h3>

<p>Given that Ings is likely to spearhead the attack and be on <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/premier-league-set-piece-takers/"><strong>penalties</strong></a>, I would be switching my focus from Watkins to Ings. I would not be opposed to a double up with <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/who-are-the-best-fpl-mid-priced-midfielders/"><strong>Emiliano Buendía </strong></a><strong>(£6.5m)</strong>.</p>

<h2><strong>Wesley Fofana (£4.5m) Injury &#8211; FPL Template Breakers</strong></h2>
<p><strong><a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/who-are-the-best-fpl-budget-defenders/">Wesley Fofana</a> (£4.5m)</strong> was the seventh most highly owned <strong>(18.9%)</strong> defender in the game.</p>
<p>However, following a horror show tackle in a 3-2 victory over <strong>Villareal</strong>, it looks like he’s going to be out for a lengthy spell after fracturing his fibula.</p>
<p>This is how <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/the-best-leicester-city-fpl-players/"><strong>Leicester</strong> </a>set up in their final friendly prior to the Community Shield clash versus <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/premier-league-fantasy-football-manchester-city-best-player-picks/"><strong>Manchester City</strong></a>:</p>

<p>With <strong>Jonny Evans (£5.5m)</strong> also injured, this leaves <strong><a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/premier-league-fantasy-football-leicester-city-best-player-tips/">Leicester</a> </strong>with a major centre back conundrum. <strong>Brendan Rodgers</strong> will be pushing to bring in some cover at the back.</p>
<p>I would keep an eye on their <strong>Community Shield</strong> line up but if they don’t bring anyone in, there’s a possibility that <strong>Daniel </strong><strong>Amartey (£4.0m)</strong> gets a few starts.</p>
<p><strong>Leicester </strong>have a reasonably kind opening fixture run and the Ghanian could be a differential enabler before your first <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/what-is-the-fantasy-premier-league-wildcard-and-when-to-use-it/"><strong>Wildcard</strong></a>.</p>
<p>However, <b>Rodgers </b>could also go with <strong>Wilfred </strong><strong>Ndidi (£5.0m) </strong>in central defence and play <strong>Hamza Choudhury (£4.5m)</strong> in front of him. Either way, a replacement for <strong>Fofana</strong> is needed and may have to look at other teams.</p>
