<p>Fantasy Premier League managers have a short break between now and FPL Gameweek 22, with cup games taking over.</p>
<p>But what should fantasy managers be looking out for in this period, and how will the FA Cup and Carabao Cup impact their plans?</p>

<h2>When are the next FPL fixtures?</h2>
<p>The FPL Gameweek 22 deadline is not until 18:30 on Friday, February 3, when Chelsea host Fulham.</p>
<p>The double gameweek concludes with Manchester United v Leeds the following Wednesday, should everything go to plan.</p>

<h2>What is happening between now and FPL Gameweek 22?</h2>
<p>The first legs of the Carabao Cup semi-finals take place tonight (Tuesday, January 24) and tomorrow.</p>
<p>First up is Southampton v Newcastle, followed by Nottingham Forest v United.</p>
<p>The second legs will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.</p>
<p>FA Cup fourth-round matches will be contested in between, with games from Friday to Monday.</p>
<p>It will be a busy few days for United and Southampton, who will play three times between now and FPL Gameweek 22.</p>
<p>Newcastle and Forest are already out of the FA Cup, so they will have a chance to rest in between their Carabao Cup games.</p>

<h2>How does the FA Cup fourth round and Carabao Cup affect FPL?</h2>
<p>The first thing that needs to be sorted is whether United and Leeds get a double gameweek in Gameweek 22.</p>
<p>Both teams are scheduled to play twice, however this will only happen if both teams avoid a draw in the FA Cup and the resulting replay.</p>
<p>United play Reading, with Leeds facing the winner of Accrington Stanley and Boreham Wood, who play tonight.</p>
<p>And in terms of the Carabao Cup, those results will help determine the fixtures for Gameweek 25.</p>
<p>Two out of these four fixtures will be rearranged, with the Carabao Cup final being played on the same weekend:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Manchester United </strong>v Brentford</li>
<li><strong>Newcastle </strong>v Brighton</li>
<li>Leeds v<strong> Southampton</strong></li>
<li>West Ham v<strong> Nottingham Forest</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>Other fixtures can be slotted into Gameweek 25, depending on results in the FA Cup, while Blank Gameweek 28 will start to take shape as we near knowing who will make the FA Cup quarter-finals.</p>

<h2>FPL tips: Double Gameweek 22 players to watch</h2>
<p>Assuming Double Gameweek 22 will go ahead, the cup games may be an extra opportunity to scout the form and fitness of United and Leeds players.</p>
<p>How much gametime <strong>Marcus Rashford (£7.1m) </strong>gets over the next week will be of note, with some rest time in at least one of the games likely welcomed by those who own him in FPL.</p>
<p><strong>Rodrigo (£6.4m) </strong>of Leeds has 12 goals in all competitions this season and is the standout pick for the Whites.</p>
<p>But there is significant competition for a midfield spot in FPL teams and it may be that some look to the forward line to add to their double gameweek options.</p>
<p><strong>Anthony Martial (£6.7m) </strong>has missed United&#8217;s last two league games with a leg injury, with new signing <strong>Wout Weghorst (£6.0m) </strong>deputising.</p>
<p>Weghorst has had a quiet start to his career at Old Trafford so far, with one shot on goal in 159 minutes.</p>
<h3>Leeds the way forward when it comes to strikers?</h3>
<p>This may see the focus shift to Leeds&#8217; teenager <strong>Wilfried Gnonto (£5.0m)</strong>.</p>
<p>The 19-year-old has one league goal to his name, coming in Gameweek 19 against West Ham, as well as two FA Cup goals.</p>
<p>He has the second-highest expected goals (xG) figure in the Leeds team since the Premier League restart in Gameweek 17 and has made five key passes &#8211; joint-third behind <strong>Tyler Adams (£4.9m) </strong>on six and <strong>Jack Harrison (£5.8m) </strong>with seven.</p>
<p>When it comes to midfield creativity though, United&#8217;s <strong>Bruno Fernandes (£9.8m)</strong> is out in front.</p>
<p>The Portuguese has three assists in six games, adding two goals. His expected assists (xA) tally of 3.18 is way ahead of anyone from Leeds or United.</p>
<p>Defensively, United are the more solid of the two, keeping eight clean sheets to Leeds&#8217; four.</p>
<p>Leeds rank second-worst for expected goals conceded (xGC), with United the league&#8217;s fourth-best team in this regard.</p>
<p><strong>Luke Shaw (£5.2m) </strong>is the top-scoring defender for the Red Devils, with one goal, two assists and ten bonus points helping him to 66 points for the season.</p>
<p><strong>Diogo Dalot (£4.7m)</strong>, who had established himself as United&#8217;s first-choice right-back until injury disrupted his progress after the World Cup,</p>
<p>Erik ten Hag confirmed ahead of the Forest match that Dalot and Martial would not be fit in time.</p>
