Fantasy Football Hub is partnering with football website Squawka for another season &#8211; and in their second article of 2024/25, they discuss some rising FPL stars who won&#8217;t break the bank.
Cole Palmer cost £5m at the start of the previous FPL season, and ended up scoring 244 points, the most of any midfielder. The Chelsea man is now £10.5m, the biggest season-to-season jump in FPL history.

<h3>Morgan Rogers &#8211; MID &#8211; £5.0m</h3>
Aston Villa must juggle Champions League and Premier League football this season, so their squad will be used to its full capacity. 
One player who may benefit from this is Morgan Rogers. The 22-year-old joined Aston Villa from Middlesbrough in February and started six of Villa’s final eight games of the 2024/25 league season. 
He scored three times in that run, matching Watkins. No Villa player managed more. Rogers has excited Villa fans in pre-season, too, with three goals and one assist so far. 
In terms of FPL, Rogers is cheap and categorised as a midfielder, so his goals score five points.
One caveat here is how Jacob Ramsey’s injury issues inflated Rogers’ minutes, though Ramsey is currently being linked with a move to Spurs.

<h3>Amad Diallo &#8211; MID &#8211; £5.0m</h3>
Another winger listed as a midfielder in FPL. This could be Amad Diallo’s true breakthrough season at Manchester United. 
After overcoming last campaign&#8217;s knee injury, Diallo played nine games in the Premier League. 
Six of those appearances came off the bench, but in one of his three starts on the right wing, Diallo scored and assisted in a 3-2 win over Newcastle.
Like Rogers, Diallo is having a strong pre-season. The Ivorian was involved in all three goals during Manchester United’s 3-2 friendly win over Real Betis, scoring one and winning the penalty for another (an FPL assist). 
He also took the corner in the build-up to United’s third, suggesting enhanced status in the team, which saw further evidence when he started the Community Shield.
Alejandro Garnacho (£6.5m) is more expensive but worth a shout here too, having scored both in the FA Cup final and the Community Shield. 
In 2024/25 only three teenagers scored more goals than Garnacho (7) across Europe’s seven major leagues – and none of them played in the Premier League.

<h3>Yankuba Minteh &#8211; MID &#8211; £5.5m</h3>
One of the three who outscored Garnacho was Yankuba Minteh – and in fact, he outscored every other teen in Europe’s seven major leagues.
He was on loan from Newcastle at Feyenoord, but has now joined Brighton and becomes an FPL option.
For Arne Slot’s Eredivisie runners-up, Minteh scored 10 goals (0.62 per 90) and provided five assists (0.31 per 90) in just 1,463 minutes of action. 
That’s a goal contribution every 98 minutes. He has figured heavily in the Seagulls’ pre-season and for those who think Brighton can get back to their best after this summer’s investment, Minteh represents an inexpensive route into their attack.

<h3>Honourable mentions: James McAtee and Lucas Bergvall</h3>
James McAtee (£5.0m) spent last season on loan at Sheffield United, scoring three goals and providing four FPL assists (directly involved in 25% of the Blades’ total strikes). 
The midfielder looks set to stay with City in 2024/25, having filled in for the many stars making late returns from international tournaments. 
Pep Guardiola had the following to say of McAtee:

Another player to keep an eye on is midfielder Lucas Bergvall (£4.5m) who, going by pre-season displays, should make his way into Tottenham’s starting XI as the campaign goes on. 
The summer arrival only turned 18 in February and was directly involved in 11 goals in just 18 appearances across all competitions for Djurgardens last season (6 goals, 5 assists). 
Bergvall ranked 5th for dribbles per (2.0) and eighth for carries of at least 10m upfield per 90 (4.5) of all midfielders to play 500+ minutes in the Allsvenskan in 2024 before he left for Spurs. 
He scored his first professional goal at 16, having already made his international debut for Sweden.
