Liverpool are once again the team to look to in FPL. Not only are they on a long unbeaten run, but they also have a <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-blank-double-gameweek-guide/">double gameweek</a> coming up. 
Ipswich are their opponents in Gameweek 23, before a double-header in Gameweek 24 against Bournemouth and Everton. So now is a good time to add Liverpool players to your squad if you haven’t already.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is the second-most in-form defender in FPL right now, with 28 points in his last four appearances. That alone should probably be enough to sign him, but it&#8217;s worth looking slightly deeper given his price tag.
Alongside some goal threat, the big selling point for Alexander-Arnold is his creativity. In his past five matches, Alexander-Arnold has created 12 chances, including three big chances. 
He has provided one assist too, from an Expected Goals total of 1.67 – 1.33 of which came from open play. 
Alexander-Arnold also leads Liverpool for final third passes attempted (167) and completed (136) across their past five league games. 
Sign if you can afford him.

Virgil van Dijk

Another Liverpool defender in their most-owned players, Virgil van Dijk has proven a favourite for clean sheets. 
Liverpool have kept two clean sheets in their past five league games, conceding 2.83 xGOT. During that time, Van Dijk has amassed 17 points in FPL. 
In terms of gaining points outside of clean sheets, Van Dijk hasn’t had much to offer. He has scored one goal and provided one assist, collecting just three bonus points across the campaign. 
The big metrics for defenders when it comes to bonus points – outside of clean sheets – are in defensive actions. As Liverpool often have control of the ball, Van Dijk doesn’t need to make too many actions. 
Across the past five games, Van Dijk has averaged 1.4 tackles. 4.6 clearances and 0.8 interceptions. 
If you want an extra Liverpool defender, avoid Van Dijk and perhaps look at Ibrahima Konate based on price.

Luis Diaz

Moving further up the pitch, Luis Diaz is an interesting prospect. He was really popular not too long ago, but his ownership is slowly dropping off &#8211; as is his price. 
Diaz has registered just 14 points across Liverpool’s past five games, and he didn’t even play in one of those. Nine of those points came as he scored in Liverpool’s 5-0 win over West Ham. 
Diaz’s underlying numbers aren’t great in terms of consistency. He posted an xG of 0.84 and xA of 0.19 against Brentford, but only had 0.02 xG and 0.05 xA against Nottingham Forest. 
Against Manchester United, his xG was 0.16 and his xA was 0.17. That, alongside Liverpool’s ability to rotate up front, makes Diaz one to avoid.

Gakpo is one player you may want to have a real look at. He’s in good form right now, scoring in each of his past four home league games.
 Just one of Liverpool’s next three games are at home, but it’s a good starting point. The Dutchman has three goals and one assist across Liverpool’s past five games, and trails only Salah for shots (13). Gakpo is also second for shots on target (6). 
Gakpo’s finishing has been top quality too. He has an xG of 1.39 across the past five games, and an xGOT of 1.84. That’s a shot placement ratio of 1.32. 
Gakpo has also posted 1.72 xA, which again is the second-most in the Liverpool squad across their past five matches. 
Although he picks up a point less per goal than other Liverpool attackers as a forward in FPL, Gakpo should still be worth signing.
