<h3>Tell us about your FPL history - and was there anything that changed to help you win?</h3>
<p dir="ltr">I have played FPL ever since I was nine years old. I have always been a huge football fan and when my neighbour introduced me to FPL, I was sold.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Ever since I have played various fantasy football games, such as Eliteserien, League of Ireland and more. Through a few of those other fantasy football games I stumbled upon analytics, which totally changed my style of play in FPL as well.</p>
<p dir="ltr">I used it a bit in the 2022/23 season but my winning season was my first full season of using analytics as a tool.</p>

<h3>Why do you think analytics is better than other styles, such as the eye test?</h3>
<p dir="ltr">I don't think analytics is a better approach for everyone but for me it certainly is.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The eye test will see stuff that data cannot and it has been important for me to establish a way to utilise both.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Human decision making can however be biased and an analytical approach allows me to spot players who I would otherwise miss.</p>

<h3 dir="ltr">Talk us through some the highs and lows of the season</h3>
<p dir="ltr">There are obviously many more highs than lows. My best memory has to be my Free Hit in Double Gameweek 34, which took me to first overall, where I stayed for the rest of the season.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The Arsenal v Chelsea game where <b>Martin Odegaard </b>assisted <strong>Ben White</strong> was wonderful, one of my favorite moments off the season.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The biggest low was probably when <strong>Phil Foden</strong> scored a hat-trick against Aston Villa and I fell a lot in rank. At that moment I was sure it was over.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Fortunately, <strong>Alejandro Garnacho</strong> scored a brace the day after to help me get just a small red arrow.</p>
<p>In Gameweek 33, I climbed from ninth to third overall and no one ahead of me had their Free Hit left. That was the first moment I really started to believe it was going to happen.</p>

<h3>We often hear you have to take risks to win FPL. Do you feel that was true in your case?</h3>
<p dir="ltr">Obviously to an extent, but in my case not as much as you would imagine. Taking a few risks whenever the timing is right might be enough.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Most risks I took were calculated, especially later on in the season. I identified Free Hit 34 as a week where I could take a few risks and it went really well!</p>
<h3>You went into Gameweek 38 with a big lead. How did you spend the final day - and how did you celebrate?</h3>
<p dir="ltr">I tried to have a normal day. I woke up early and did some exam prep before dedicating the rest of my day to FPL. I went to a pub to watch the last games with a few mates.</p>
<p>The celebration was very fun. My friends and parents arranged a surprise party for me where we had a lot of fun and watched some of the Euros. I had to celebrate pretty late due to a heavy exam schedule around the time I won.</p>

<h3>What are your expectations for the season ahead? What is a realistic goal?</h3>
<p dir="ltr">I don't want to set a goal for this season as I think it could ruin my style of play and make me make a few bad decisions early on, which can lead to a less than desirable rank.</p>
<p dir="ltr">I'll just continue playing with the same analytical playing style I adopted last season and see where that takes me.</p>
<h3>What top tips would you give Hub members to win their mini-leagues?</h3>
<p dir="ltr">Don't take unnecessary risks. Popular players are popular for a reason. Let the other managers make the mistakes.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Planning is also very important. I would advise you to make a proper plan and plan four to six weeks ahead.</p>
<h3 dir="ltr">Erling Haaland is a key talking point this coming season. Did you go without him much last season and what do you think of his £15.0m price?</h3>
<p>I had Haaland for 29 gameweeks. The only time I went without that springs to mind was when I took him out in Gameweek 28 against Liverpool, followed by a blank. Then I brought him back into my team again in my Gameweek 30 Wildcard.</p>
<p>Haaland at £15.0m is very tricky. I have not completely decided if I'm going with him or not yet but it's tempting to downgrade him and spend the cash elsewhere.</p>
