<p>Premier League players face a suspension if they pick up too many yellow cards &#8211; but what are the rules and who is closest to a one-match ban?</p>
<p>Here, we list every player currently banned &#8211; be it for red cards or collecting yellow cards &#8211; and those at most risk of missing a game.</p>

<h2>What are the rules on yellow cards?</h2>
<p>Players who received five yellow cards in their sides&#8217; first 19 games served a one-match ban.</p>
<p>The threshold then rose to 10 yellows over the first 32 games which is met with a two-match ban, followed by a three-match ban for 15 yellows in 38 games.</p>
<p>A suspension for picking up too many bookings must be served in the Premier League &#8211; not the FA Cup or Carabao Cup.</p>
<p>We&#8217;re now past the 19 game mark, so the the threshold is 10. Teams have played between 26 and 28 matches.</p>

<h2>Who&#8217;s closing in on a ban in FPL?</h2>
<p>The following players have picked up the most yellow cards so far.</p>
<p><strong><em>Editor&#8217;s note: Yerson Mosquera picked up his ninth yellow card in Gameweek 28. The official FPL website however noted that the Wolves defender was already on nine yellows, which was reflected in an earlier version of this article. The records initially attributed Mosquera as receiving a yellow card against Bournemouth in Gameweek 24 &#8211; but it was later confirmed by the match report that <a href="https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/2026/02/06/the-yellow-card-mix-up-and-which-wolves-players-are-close-to-a-suspension/">he was not cautioned</a>. </em></strong></p>
