Premier League players face a suspension if they pick up too many yellow cards &#8211; but what are the rules and who is closest to a one-match ban?
Here, we list every player currently banned and those at most risk of missing a game. This article will be updated regularly throughout this season.

<h2>What are the rules on yellow cards?</h2>
Players who receive five yellow cards in their sides&#8217; first 19 games serve a one-match ban.
The threshold then rises to 10 yellows over the first 32 games which is met with a two-match ban, followed by a final three-match ban for 15 yellows in 38 games.
A suspension for picking up too many bookings must be served in the Premier League &#8211; not the FA Cup or Carabao Cup.

<h2>Who&#8217;s closing in on a ban in FPL?</h2>
The following players have picked up the most yellow cards over the opening two gameweeks of the season.

Anthony Gordon saw red in Newcastle&#8217;s 2-3 loss to Liverpool in Gameweek 2.
The Magpies&#8217; stand-in striker was sent off after a VAR review, following his rash challenge on Virgil van Dijk.
Given this amounted to violent conduct, he will be unavailable for the next three gameweeks.
This is not ideal for manager Eddie Howe amid uncertainty over Alexander Isak&#8217;s future. Howe said post-match that an appeal could be considered:

&#8220;Of course. If we analyse the incident and feel there&#8217;s grounds for that [an appeal], we will do without hesitation.
&#8220;I&#8217;d need to see it, I can&#8217;t sit here and give an honest opinion to that until I&#8217;ve done the work that you&#8217;ve done and looked at it.
&#8220;But knowing the player, I know there&#8217;s no malice intended there.&#8221;

Toti Gomes was red carded in Wolves&#8217; loss to Bournemouth. He brought down Evanilson as the Brazilian was through on goal, narrowly avoiding giving away a penalty.
The centre-back&#8217;s offence attracts a one-match ban &#8211; but he will serve this in the midweek Carabao Cup fixture.
Red cards rules differ to those for accumulating yellows &#8211; and bans can be served in other domestic competitions.
This is of no help to Gordon however, with Newcastle not playing in the second round of the Carabao Cup  due to their involvement in the Champions League.
Elsewhere, Ezri Konsa can return to action after serving a one-match ban in Gameweek 2.
