<p>Meanwhile, Spurs have already missed one fixture this month due to their own COVID-19 outbreak, with their opponents this week Leicester City again having issues of their own.</p>

<p class="p1">On Sunday afternoon, news broke of a <strong>COVID-19 outbreak at Manchester United. </strong>This situation looks the most serious right now when it comes to whether their game against Brentford can go ahead on Tuesday.</p>
<p>The Athletic&#8217;s David Ornstein reported on Sunday that <strong>Manchester United couldn&#8217;t train as normal on Sunday</strong> due to &#8220;a small number of player/staff COVID-19 cases.&#8221; Having been together as a squad for the Norwich game on Sunday, this situation is clearly developing.</p>
<p>On Monday morning, Sky Sports News reported the following from Carrington: &#8220;Strangely, we haven&#8217;t seen any players report for training as yet.&#8221; Currently there are no leaked names of players who are thought to be affected.</p>
<p>Since then, Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News stated that they may be having a later training session before travelling to Brentford. We do tend to get news of players who have travelled, which could provide an important indicator.</p>
<p>Their opponents Brentford are hoping to have <strong>Ivan Toney back from illness</strong>, after he has recovered from COVID-19. Ethan Pinnock remains red flagged with illness. We will have definitive news before the deadline, as this is the first fixture of Gameweek 17.</p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>Spurs</strong> <strong>missed their Gameweek 16 fixture against Brighton due to a COVID-19 outbreak</strong> and the status of their midweek game is currently unclear. They do have until Thursday though, so time is on their side, although there&#8217;s a chance we won&#8217;t know for sure until after the deadline.</span></p>
<p>As things stand, the situation at Spurs is improving. On Sunday, the Daily Mail reported that Spurs &#8220;returned to training today and Antonio Conte wasted no time &#8211; putting his players through a double session.&#8221;</p>
<p>The Evening Standard provided an update on the training ground which remains closed on Monday. &#8220;A depleted Spurs squad set to train again today but first-team areas of training ground remain closed. Club hopeful it could be open tomorrow or Wednesday, provided no more positives.&#8221;</p>
<p>As it stands, <strong>the club are preparing to play the game</strong>, but any players who have tested positive are unlikely to be involved. <span class="s1"><strong>Bryan Gil</strong> and <strong>Emerson Royal</strong> could return, but involvement for</span><span class="s1"> <strong>Ben Davies</strong>, <strong>Heung-Min Son</strong>, <strong>Lucas Moura</strong> and <strong>Cristian Romero </strong>will be unlikely. </span></p>
<p>However, news has since broken on Monday morning of a <strong>new first-team Covid case</strong>, as well as an outbreak from their youth team &#8211; an exclusive in the Telegraph.</p>
<p>Opponents <strong>Leicester City</strong> also have a number of players out through either illness or COVID-19, including <strong>Kelechi Iheanacho, Jannick Vestergaard, Ayoze Perez, Ademola Lookman and Hamza Choudhury</strong>.</p>
<p>This hasn&#8217;t impacted their ability to play, with a resounding victory against Newcastle United at the weekend.</p>

<p>The Athletic&#8217;s David Ornstein reported on Sunday &#8220;some positive tests among training ground staff and one player, with recovery session cancelled.&#8221; Training is expected to continue as normal today (Monday.)</p>
<p>Aston Villa have their press conference scheduled for 13:30 on Monday, where we could hear more news of the developing situation.</p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">While this situation is developing, <strong>it’s important that FPL managers do nothing for now</strong>. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">We should have a much clearer picture on <strong>Tuesday afternoon</strong> ahead of the 18:00 deadline, in which to react to the news. Hold off on making any transfers until then. </span></p>
