<p>FPL Blank Gameweek 29 featured four games &#8211; and points were frustratingly hard to come by for fantasy managers.</p>

<h2>FPL Blank Gameweek 29: How many used their Free Hit chip?</h2>
<p>Using the Free Hit was the top 250,000 managers&#8217; main strategy for tackling the blank.</p>
<p>About six in 10 activated the chip this week, while more than three quarters have used it.</p>
<p>A small proportion used their Wildcard to boost their Gameweek 29 options instead.</p>
<p>The vast majority of managers chose <strong>Son Heung-min (£10.1m) </strong>as their captain, who was one of a number of Gameweek 29 disappointments, failing to manage an attacking return.</p>

<h2>FPL Blank Gameweek 29: Template team falls short</h2>
<p>With the FPL average barely creeping into double figures, the pain of Blank Gameweek 29 was at least shared.</p>
<p>The team below was the most common starting 11 in the top 250,000, replicated by 13,358 managers.</p>
<p>It was a full house of one and two-pointers &#8211; apart from a woeful -3. Assuming Son was captain, it would have scored 15 points.</p>

<p><strong>Sergio Reguilon (£4.4m) </strong>lasted eight minutes before being shown a red card for a foul on <strong>Vitinho (£4.4m) </strong>in the box.</p>
<p><strong>Jacob Bruun Larsen (£4.8m) </strong>converted the penalty, putting Burnley 1-0 up and wiping out <strong>Mark Flekken (£4.6m) </strong>and Brentford&#8217;s clean sheet.</p>
<p>Luton full-back <strong>Alfie Doughty (£4.7m) </strong>went off after 45 minutes and is now flagged as having a <a href="https://www.lutontoday.co.uk/sport/football/luton-town/luton-chief-is-so-impressed-by-towns-fighting-spirit-as-they-claim-a-late-reds-point-4558113">hamstring injury</a>.</p>

<p><strong>Mohammed Kudus (£6.9m) </strong>drove the ball home in the 41st minute of West Ham&#8217;s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa but the whistle had already been blown for a foul moments before.</p>
<p>The Hammers had another two goals disallowed, including one from goalscorer <strong>Michail Antonio (£5.7m)</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Jarrod Bowen (£8.0m) </strong>completed three key passes but had no shots on goal in another poor showing for a popular Free Hit option.</p>
<p>Son and <strong>James Maddison (£8.0m) </strong>each created a big chance for their teammates but had no shots on target as Tottenham Hotspur fell to a 3-0 defeat to Fulham.</p>
<p>That meant no clean sheet points for <strong>Pedro Porro (£5.8m)</strong>, who lacked attacking threat with 0 expected goals (xG) and 0.06 expected assists (xA). The Spaniard did however take three of Spurs&#8217; five corners.</p>
<h3>Watkins fit for Villa, Toney and Brentford denied penalty</h3>
<p>Up front, <strong>Ollie Watkins (£9.0m) </strong>shook off his midweek knee cut to play a full part in Villa&#8217;s match. But like numerous Free Hit picks, he came up short in front of goal.</p>
<p><strong>Ivan Toney (£8.2m) </strong>had two shots on target and one big chance, however he finished on one point after being booked.</p>
<p>Brentford manager Thomas Frank claimed his team should have been awarded a &#8216;clear penalty&#8217; at 1-0 down, a spot-kick that would have gone to their talisman.</p>
<p><strong>Carlton Morris (£5.2m) </strong>completed the template team&#8217;s shocking score and was another to have no shots on goal.</p>

<h2>FPL Blank Gameweek 29 successes: Muniz leads way with brace</h2>
<p>It was not all doom and gloom, with some low-owned players hauling.</p>
<p>Leading them all way was Fulham striker <strong>Rodrigo Muniz (£4.6m)</strong>, whose two goals fired Fulham to victory. He scored 13 points, including three bonus points.</p>
<p>Muniz now has seven goals in seven games since breaking into the starting 11 in Gameweek 23. Only Watkins and <strong>Bukayo Saka (£9.1m) </strong>can beat his 57 FPL points in that time.</p>
<p>He came off after 64 minutes for <strong>Raul Jimenez (£5.0m)</strong>, who made his return from injury.</p>
<p>Marco Silva said the change was precautionary as Muniz was tired and had felt discomfort in his hamstring.</p>
<p>Early substitutions could be a hazard for Muniz owners from now on regardless of his injury status, although his starting spot is surely not under threat on current form.</p>
<p>Fulham full-backs <strong>Antonee Robinson (£4.5m) </strong>and <strong>Timothy Castagne (£4.5m) </strong>each assisted a goal to go with their clean sheets, with two and one bonus points respectively.</p>
<p><strong>Chris Wood (£4.8m) </strong>might have been in more Free Hit teams had news of <strong>Taiwo Awoniyi (£6.3m) </strong>being out for weeks broken pre-deadline.</p>
<p>The New Zealand forward broke the deadlock for Nottingham Forest against Luton and he scored maximum bonus for a nine-point return.</p>
<p>Burnley goalscorer <strong>David Datro Fofana (£5.0m) </strong>was a forward pick of the <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/hub-ai-team-reveal-2023-24">Hub AI team</a>, which scored 27 points on Free Hit.</p>
<p>The AI team opted for double Burnley defence, which was looking good for a clean sheet until Brentford scored in the 83rd minute.</p>
<p>Vincent Kompany&#8217;s backline was notable for the return of goalkeeper <strong>Arijanet Muric (£4.3m)</strong>, with <strong>James Trafford (£4.5m)</strong> dropped.</p>
