            <p>With the much-loved Sky Sports Fantasy Football not running this season, two fantasy fans have created a brand new format to fill the gap.</p>
<p>Cloud Fantasy Football has been created by Hub Sky and Telegraph fixture planning supremo <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/telegraph-fantasy-football-transfer-planner">Ian Parrin</a> and partner site <a href="https://ffstuff.co.uk/index.php">FFStuff</a>.</p>
<p>It shares many similarities with the Sky game - but in this article, Ian takes us through everything you need to know, including the winners and losers from a points perspective based on last year's Sky data.</p>

<h2>Cloud Fantasy Football: How the game was created</h2>
<p>When Sky Fantasy Football was unexpectedly discontinued in July, it left a significant gap for dedicated fantasy football managers.</p>
<p>Recognising the need for a new platform, FFStuff and I collaborated to create Cloud Fantasy Football.</p>
<p>With invaluable support and feedback from fans, we quickly brought the game to life, ensuring it retained the strategic depth and competitive spirit that made Sky Fantasy Football popular.</p>
<p>Within a month, a fully functional game was designed and built for passionate players, albeit using a different game engine.</p>
<h2>Key gameplay differences between Sky and Cloud Fantasy Football</h2>
<h3><strong>Fixture day coverage and captaincy</strong></h3>
<p>In Cloud Fantasy Football, planning for fixture day coverage is crucial due to the automatic max captain system.</p>
<p>Unlike in other formats, where managers must select a captain, Cloud Fantasy Football simplifies this by automatically awarding double points to the best-performing player in your squad on each matchday.</p>
<p>This system makes it essential to have active players on every fixture day, as even a single high-scoring player can significantly impact your overall score.</p>
<h3>Transfer management</h3>
<p>Cloud Fantasy Football gives you 40 transfers for the entire season, with no Wildcard or Overhaul options available in phase one.</p>
<p>This restriction places a premium on long-term strategic planning. You'll need to consider each transfer carefully, balancing the need to replace under-performing or injured players with the desire to bring in players with favorable fixture runs.</p>
<p>Transfers must be made before the first kick-off of any matchday to count for that day's games. Additionally, keep in mind that a maximum of five transfers can be used in any one gameweek, which runs from Tuesday to Monday, differing from Sky’s traditional Friday-Thursday gameweek structure.</p>
<p>By carefully managing your transfers and ensuring strong fixture day coverage, you'll be well-positioned to take advantage of the unique strategic opportunities Cloud Fantasy Football offers.</p>

<h3>No Overhaul/Wildcard</h3>
<p>It's important to note that, unlike in other fantasy football formats, Cloud Fantasy Football does not offer an Overhaul or Wildcard.</p>
<p>This means that the initial squad you select during the transfer amnesty period - lasting until the first gameweek deadline at 19:15 on Friday, August 16, 2024 - must be carefully chosen, as it will form the backbone of your team for the entire season.</p>
<p>Ensuring that your initial selections are strong and versatile will be key to your success. The reason for the deadline being 45 minutes before kick-off is so that everyone's teams can be collated and prepared for Cloud Fantasy Football scoring.</p>
<h3>Strategy and points differences</h3>
<p>Cloud Fantasy Football closely mirrors the gameplay that Sky Fantasy Football managers were accustomed to, maintaining the tier points for saves, passes, tackles, and shots on target that were integral to the Sky game.</p>
<p>However, Cloud introduces subtle but strategic differences in its scoring system, which allows managers to gain points not just through traditional metrics like goals, assists, and clean sheets but also through other in-game actions.</p>
<p>These changes ensure that players contributing across the pitch are rewarded, making it essential for managers to consider a well-rounded team.</p>
<p>This approach adds depth to team management, ensuring that a variety of player roles are valuable in the pursuit of points.</p>
<h3><strong>Cloud Fantasy Football’s bonus points structure:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li><strong>Tier 1:</strong> 1 point for 3 saves (GK), 3 total tackles, 55 completed passes, or 1 shot on target.</li>
<li><strong>Tier 2:</strong> 2 points for 4 saves (GK), 4 total tackles, 65 completed passes, or 2 shots on target.</li>
<li><strong>Tier 3:</strong> 3 points for 5+ saves (GK), 5+ total tackles, 75+ completed passes, or 3+ shots on target.</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Sky Fantasy Football’s Bonus Points Structure:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li><strong>Tier 1:</strong> 2 points for 3 saves (GK), 4 total tackles, 60 completed passes, or 2 shots on target.</li>
<li><strong>Tier 2:</strong> 3 points for 5+ saves (GK), 5+ total tackles, 70+ completed passes, or 3+ shots on target.</li>
</ul>
<p>In comparison to other fantasy games like FPL, where the focus is often on goals, assists, and clean sheets, Cloud Fantasy Football offers a more comprehensive scoring system.</p>
<p>This makes the game a tactical challenge, where understanding the full range of player contributions can be the key to success.</p>

<p>Cloud Fantasy Football is hosted on a robust platform developed in conjunction with FFStuff, which is already a go-to website for fantasy football managers with its in-depth stats, tables, charts, and graphs for a multitude of formats.</p>
<p>The website offers a seamless experience, allowing players to manage their teams, track points and view league positions in real-time.</p>

<p>In phase one of Cloud Fantasy Football, players will use Telegraph Fantasy Football (TFF) to manage their teams. TFF provides a user-friendly interface that allows both new and experienced players to easily set up their teams, make transfers and monitor their progress throughout the season.</p>
<p><strong>Important:</strong> Players must ensure that their TFF team is set to public, not private, and they will need their TFF team ID when filling out the Cloud Fantasy Football entry form.</p>
