Luis Diaz is likely to be out until after the World Cup, having picked up a knee injury in the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal.
The Liverpool winger, priced at £8.0m, is owned by 19.1% of FPL managers, as well as being a popular pick in other fantasy formats.
We briefly summarise the update from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, and give you the lowdown on who fantasy managers should be looking to transfer in to replace him.
For those of you who don&#8217;t own Diaz, the second half of this article should still provide a useful summary of which midfielders to target before the World Cup begins next month.

<h2>What is the latest on Diaz&#8217;s injury?</h2>
Colombian winger Luis Diaz has been ruled out until December, as a result of the knee injury sustained in Sunday&#8217;s match against Arsenal.
Following scans, Jurgen Klopp will at least be pleased to hear that Diaz does not require surgery, but regardless, the injury will keep him out until after the World Cup.
As a result, the 25-year-old will miss at least 10 matches for Jurgen Klopp’s struggling Reds.
This includes several huge games, including the visit of Manchester City on Sunday, and a trip to Tottenham the following month.
Trent Alexander-Arnold also picked up an injury to his ankle against Arsenal, and Joel Matip has just been ruled out for several weeks, further adding to Klopp&#8217;s injury woes.
A silver lining of sorts for Diaz is that he will not miss out on the World Cup, as Colombia did not qualify.
This will be of little consolation to Klopp however, as Diaz has arguably been his most effective player so far this season.

<h2>Should I sell Diaz in FPL?</h2>
Yes, you almost certainly should.
Although Diaz has had a decent start to the FPL season, with only Mohamed Salah (£12.7m) and Roberto Firmino (£8.0m) outscoring him among his Liverpool teammates, his long-term injury means his position in our FPL teams is untenable.
Not only is he ruled out, but at £8.0m he also eats up a decent amount of your budget, and moving him on will allow you some fresh opportunities, given the array of options available in midfield.

<h2>Who should I buy to replace Diaz?</h2>
Luckily for those with Diaz in their teams, there are several promising midfield options around his FPL price range.
Liverpool&#8217;s weekend opponents Arsenal provide a couple of interesting picks straight off the bat.
There&#8217;s a good chance you already own Gabriel Martinelli (£6.6m) who continues to offer incredible value &#8211; returning a goal, assist, and 12 points against Liverpool.
But his teammate Bukayo Saka (£7.8m) is much less popular, perhaps as a result of his higher price.
Saka scored twice against Liverpool, including one from the penalty spot, and his status as the Gunners&#8217; penalty taker could make him worth forking out the extra cash for.
Mikel Arteta will be licking his lips at the fixtures to come, with Leeds, Southampton, and Nottingham Forest their next three opponents.
In amongst these excellent fixtures however is a blank in Gameweek 12, as both Arsenal and Manchester City do not have fixtures.
For this reason, it is important to consider the options on your FPL bench before bringing in an Arsenal asset, as you don&#8217;t want to leave yourself short for next week.

Keeping Gameweek 12 in mind, perhaps Leandro Trossard (£6.8m) could be the man to target.
The Brighton winger is being used in a very attacking role, playing just off the striker under new manager <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/how-will-roberto-de-zerbi-affect-brighton-players-fantasy-football-prospects/">Roberto De Zerbi,</a> and is receiving a much greater number of chances as a result.
So far, he&#8217;s managed seven attacking returns in eight games, including an impressive hat-trick at Anfield.
Despite Trossard blanking against Spurs last time out, the next two fixtures should provide ample opportunities for the Belgian to pick up points.
Brighton travel to Brentford in Gameweek 11, before hosting Nottingham Forest the following week.
Steve Cooper&#8217;s side have the worst goal difference in the league (-15) so the Forest fixture in particular looks a good one for the Seagulls.
Be wary however, as Brighton&#8217;s fixtures take a real turn after this, with De Zerbi&#8217;s side taking on Manchester City and Chelsea in Gameweeks 13 and 14.

Wilfried Zaha (£7.4m) is another affordable option, with an incredible run of fixtures in the medium to long term.
Zaha remains a talisman for Crystal Palace, and should be nailed for 90 minutes in the coming weeks, as well as taking penalties for his side.
As mentioned, Palace&#8217;s fixtures look very appealing, with Leicester, Wolves, Everton, Southampton, and Nottingham Forest all to come before the World Cup.
Zaha has notched four goals so far, as well as picking up his first assist of the season in Gameweek 10, with a neat back-heel to set up the winning goal.
The Eagles have had a tough start fixtures wise, having already faced Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea.
With these difficult games now out of the way, Patrick Vieira will be hoping the only way is up, and Zaha is likely to be one of the beneficiaries of the kind fixture run to come.

If you can stretch to an extra £0.1m, Jarrod Bowen (£8.1m) presents an interesting prospect.
He faces Southampton and Bournemouth in his next three, and like Saka, looks to have secured his status as his club&#8217;s penalty taker, after converting from the spot against Fulham.
The only doubts around Bowen come from West Ham&#8217;s participation in the Europa Conference League, in which David Moyes tends to field a reasonably strong team on Thursday nights.
Despite this risk, Bowen&#8217;s place in the team appears secure, as he continues to play 90 minutes regularly in the league, with little natural competition for him on the right hand side of the Hammers&#8217; attack.

For those with an extra £0.2m in the bank, there may be temptation to opt for the man looking to exploit Liverpool&#8217;s injuries, as Manchester City travel to Anfield in Gameweek 11.
Phil Foden (£8.2m) has had a fantastic start to the season, registering 10 attacking returns in 9 games, including a hat-trick against Manchester United.
Whether Foden will play on the left or right against Liverpool remains to be seen, but either way you would fancy him to add to his tally against a Liverpool side that looks lost defensively.
The downside to Foden is that &#8211; like Saka and Martinelli &#8211; he has no fixture in Gameweek 12.

Another option at this price point is James Maddison (£8.2m) who, unlike Foden, does have a fixture in Gameweek 12.
Leicester welcome Crystal Palace and Leeds to the King Power Stadium in their next two, followed by a trip to struggling Wolves.
Maddison has had a strong start to the season, producing attacking returns in 6 out of his 9 starts so far.
The downside to this pick is Leicester&#8217;s poor form as a whole &#8211; the Foxes currently sit bottom of the Premier League.
Despite a productive start in terms of FPL points, Maddison&#8217;s underlying attacking numbers are not the best, and he is relying somewhat on his clinical nature and technical ability to produce returns &#8211; including his trademark free kicks.
With Leicester struggling for cohesion under Brendan Rodgers, and looking dysfunctional at both ends of the pitch, it remains to be seen if Maddison can continue to perform at a level above that of his teammates.
