<p>News of a problem for Shaw began to emerge yesterday (Thursday, August 25).</p>
<p>Manchester United released a <a href="https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/luke-shaw-sustains-injury-before-man-utd-v-nottingham-forest?utm_campaign=ManUtd&amp;utm_medium=post&amp;utm_source=twitter">statement</a> today, which read:</p>

<h2>Should I sell Shaw in FPL?</h2>
<p>Although United have not confirmed precisely how long Shaw is set to be out for, a 'number of weeks' means a sale in FPL is the sensible approach.</p>
<p>Shaw is not the only issue FPL managers have ahead of Gameweek 3 though.</p>
<p><strong>Gabriel (£4.9m) </strong>has not featured in either of Arsenal's first two starting lineups, prompting many to sell him ahead of the Gunners' trip to Fulham.</p>
<p>The centre-back is in 22.8% of FPL teams, although just 3.91% of the top 250,000 managers have both him and Shaw.</p>
<p>There is a chance Gabriel gets restored to Mikel Arteta's starting 11 and those with him may give him one more week.</p>

<p><strong>James Maddison (£7.6m) </strong>was spotted in a protective boot and on crutches after Tottenham Hotspur's Gameweek 2 win against Manchester United.</p>

<p>On the plus side, Ange Postecoglu said Maddison had trained fully today, so could be involved in Gameweek 3. If he is not risked this weekend, it does not appear to be a serious problem.</p>
<p>This could convince owners to hold him if they have not already got rid of the midfielder.</p>
<p>Injury worries and a number early <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fantasy-premier-league-price-rises">price rises</a> tempted a number of managers into making early transfers this week, so some Shaw owners will now be debating whether to use a hit to take him out.</p>
<p>The need for a hit may depend on the strength of affected FPL managers' benches. But a sale may have been on the cards from next week anyway, given United play Arsenal and Brighton in their next two games.</p>
<p>For those who have stayed patient and are yet to make a transfer, Shaw looks to be the priority sell ahead of Maddison and Gabriel.</p>
