Kieran Tierney has done "bits with the team" but is yet to train fully. "He is being assessed ahead of Sunday's match," but I suspect Nuno Tavares will keep his place at left-back. Granit Xhaka is "making good progress" and aims to be back in full training early in the New Year. There are no other reported problems.

Morgan Sanson and Jaden Philogene-Bidace are back in training following illness. However, Dean Smith confirms Danny Ings, Bertrand Traoré and Douglas Luiz are still out." Meanwhile, Ezri Konsa serves a one-game ban. The injury to Jacob Ramsey "wasn't as bad as we thought" and the midfielder took part in a full session on Wednesday. "So, he's available for selection." Smith initially reported a high ankle sprain that could've kept him out for the rest of the month.

Thomas Frank confirms Kristoffer Ajer will be sidelined "for a fair amount of weeks" following the hamstring injury he suffered in the Carabao Cup, and the centre-back may not play again this year. Bryan Mbeumo is in line to return to the starting XI if "everything goes well in training" on Friday following a recent hamstring issue. Saturday comes too soon for Yoane Wissa and Shadon Baptiste, with Mads Sorensen, David Raya and Joshua Dasilva out long-term.

A knee injury means Dan Burn is a doubt for Saturday evening. "[He] is not definitely out; we'll see how he is," said Graham Potter. "Otherwise, there are no fresh injury concerns." Aaron Connolly has recovered from a minor heel injury, but the Seagulls could still be without up to four players. The Brighton boss says Maupay has "responded well" after he was benched at Anfield. "Neal knows we've got a squad that's competitive and supports each other. Like any player, you're not happy when you don't play, but he's responded well and is there to support the team."

Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Mateo Kovacic are out of the game on Saturday, but Thomas Tuchel hopes that the trio can return after the break. Marcos Alonso will also miss the Burnley fixture after picking up a knock in the Champions League. "Unfortunately, he injured himself in the very last minute during the Malmo match. He tried now to come for training, but the stress is too high on the ankle; it's nothing big but too painful at the moment, so he will not be in the squad tomorrow." Christian Pulisic had no reaction following his return, and Mason Mount will be in the squad. "He can play some minutes, but he has lost a bit of weight because he cannot eat properly, so he is taking medication and let's see."

Nathan Ferguson is the only player not training fully with the squad. "[From] next week [he will start] to take part in some of the exercises with the first-team," Patrick Vieira confirmed. Eberechi Eze is "feeling good" after his hour-long run out for the U23 side on Monday, but it's too soon for the winger to be considered for the first team. "We need him to play more games, complete a 90 minutes before we take him into consideration." Will Hughes is over his back problem.

Rafa reveals Lucas Digne is fit and available following a return to training. However, Everton will be without Yerry Mina (hamstring), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (quadriceps), Abdoulaye Doucoure (foot) and Andre Gomes (calf). All four players are progressing with their rehabilitation, but this weekend comes too soon. Fabian Delph and Cenk Tosun returned to the matchday squad at Molineux on Monday, as the Toffees' injury problems are beginning to ease. "We are bringing players back little by little. Now we have Tosun, Delph and Jarrad Branthwaite. We are still missing key players, but we are bringing players back and hopefully, they will have a big part in our success if we can win games now."
