Granit Xhaka is the only reported absentee for the Gunners who travel to Brighton this weekend. "A specialist consultation took place in London, which determined that Granit does not require surgery," read a statement on the clubs' website. "We are aiming for him to be back in action in approximately three months." Despite the news that the midfielder would not play again this year, Mikel Arteta insists the setback is much better than initially anticipated. "First of all, it's obviously a significant injury, but he probably escaped an even worse injury than he could have had from the action because that action for the (anterior) cruciate ligament is a tricky one. Hopefully, he can escape surgery as well."

The last-gasp draw at Selhurst Park took a lot out of the Brighton players, but they have recovered well. Danny Welbeck is scheduled to see a hamstring specialist after limping off on Monday. Steven Alzate won't be available, but there was no word on Enock Mwepu. Tariq Lamptey is "training hard and getting stronger every day", but Monday night was not the right time to play him after only 45-minutes in the Carabao Cup.

Jay Rodriguez missed the 2-2 draw with Leicester after scoring four goals in the Carabao Cup. However, the ankle injury that kept Patrick Bamford out of the West Ham fixture will take a "few more weeks" to resolve. Luke Ayling has a problem in his knee which may require a "simple surgical intervention", although there was no further insight offered. Robin Koch is no closer due to a "very rebellious injury. "There is no prognostic when he will recover. It can last a short period or a long period of time. Subject to his evolution."
