Bukayo Saka is yet to train after being forced off against Palace with a calf injury. The winger will be assessed on Thursday. "It's down to the doctors and himself to see how he recovers and how he is feeling between today and tomorrow," Mikel Arteta told reporters. "We have a training session today. We have two or three players that finished the game with some issues, and we have to review them." Kieran Tierney is believed to be among those, although I understand the problem is not severe. Granit Xhaka is the only definite absentee.

Dean Smith confirms Matty Cash is training after recovering from the dead leg that forced him against Wolves. Leon Bailey and Bertrand Traore are also in contention, but after "four or five weeks out", the pair will be integrated gradually to build fitness. There was no mention of Carney Chukwuemeka, who missed the recent England U21s qualifiers; however, Keinan Davis is also training normally. "So, we're starting to get a fully fit squad again."

Yoane Wissa will be out for a "few more weeks" after suffering a training ground ankle injury. Shandon Baptiste, Mads Sorensen and Joshua Dasilva are all out long-term while Vitaly Janelt could return to the matchday squad after working with the group. Thomas Frank may be tempted to name an unchanged side despite the home loss to Chelsea. The Bees were incredibly unlucky and came up against Benjamin Mendy, who had one of those days!

Adam Webster stands an "outside chance" of making the squad following his recovery from a hamstring strain. "He's had a good week," revealed Graham Potter. Danny Welbeck and Steven Alzate remain sidelined, "but everyone else is available for selection." Tariq Lamptey is closing in on full fitness after 30 minutes at Norwich last weekend, but it sounds as if the wing-back won't be considered just yet. "[He] responded really well. He was excited to be on the pitch; he enjoyed it. He's got a lot of work to do; we just need to keep helping him get back to the Tariq Lamptey we all know."

Sean Dyche says he will make late decisions on Charlie Taylor, Matej Vydra, and Ben Mee as the Clarets head into a three-game week with Leeds in the Carabao Cup scheduled for Wednesday. "They're all close," he told reporters. Dale Stephens has stepped up his recovery from ankle surgery and is now training outside on the grass.

Thomas Tuchel on Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic: "They are out for tomorrow, and they are out for the Southampton game, and from there, we see what's next. The one thing I can tell you for sure is they are in treatment and feeling positive, not too worried." The Blues boss believes Hakim Ziyech is still suffering the effects of the shoulder injury he sustained in the Super Cup. "I don't feel him 100 per cent free with his shoulders. I felt even if there was no pain, maybe it's subconscious, there is something that limits him in his movements and his freedom to turn and accelerate and decelerate. He needs time and patience to fight his way back into the team."

"We have some issues but, little-by-little, we are bringing back some players," Rafa Benitez told reporters. Richarlison has been training. "He has been okay. Obviously, match fitness is an issue. But he is happy, and he is available." It could be late November before Dominic Calvert-Lewin is in contention following a setback in his recovery from a quadriceps strain. "It depends on how he reacts to the treatment. We will not see him for four or five weeks, maybe. I don't like to put a timeframe on it." Yerry Mina will also miss the game through injury. "He was playing three games, 90 minutes, with the national team. Coming back, he has to follow the COVID rules, and he felt a little bit in his hamstring the other day, so he will not be available. This is what we have now with so many trips and rules they have to follow." Andre Gomes and Fabian Delph are all close to a return.

Robin Koch will remain sidelined for at least another month following surgery in the United States. And despite training, Marcelo Bielsa is not prepared to risk Kalvin Phillips. "At this stage, he has done sessions for recovery and physical prep, and progressive work with the ball. To think of him for Saturday would be too soon before his best." Spaniard Junior Firpo could overcome a muscle issue in time to face Norwich next weekend.

Marc Albrighton has been ruled out after a "horrendous challenge" late on in Moscow. "He's probably going to be two to three weeks out, which is a shame for him because he's such an important player for us." Youri Tielemans "looks to be fine" following a lower back spasm, and Jonny Evans is coping after returning to the side. "He was excellent the other night, and we got him off when we felt we could. He had a little bit of soreness towards the end of the game, actually not in his foot. It was in his lower back, which he felt a little bit in the Manchester United game."
