<p>Chelsea have announced the signing of <strong>Raheem Sterling (£10.0m) </strong>from Manchester City &#8211; but what are his FPL prospects in a Chelsea shirt?</p>
<p>Sterling <a href="https://twitter.com/sterling7/status/1547174288603508736">tweeted</a> a farewell message to City fans on Wednesday (July 13) morning and <a href="https://twitter.com/ChelseaFC">Chelsea</a> officially confirmed the news this afternoon.</p>

<h2>Raheem Sterling &#8211; Manchester City record</h2>
<p>When fantasy managers think of Raheem Sterling&#8217;s prospects as a fantasy player, it&#8217;s not always with fond memories.</p>
<p>Sterling has been a frustrating asset to own under Pep Guardiola, with his highest minutes coming in 2018/19, where he played 2,770 Premier League minutes.</p>
<p>However, Sterling&#8217;s credentials are astonishing in his seven seasons at Manchester City.</p>
<p>In 225 Premier League appearances, he&#8217;s registered 91 goals and 71 assists. That&#8217;s an average of 0.72 fantasy returns per game.</p>
<p>He&#8217;s chalked up more than 200 points on three occasions.</p>

<p>Even taking 2021/22 into account, where he played his lowest number of minutes (2121) since 2015/16, he still managed 20 goal involvements (13 goals and seven assists).</p>
<p>He was ranked eighth for goals per 90 (0.55) and fourth for points per 90 (6.90) last season. The only thing stopping him from matching the go-to premiums was game-time.</p>
<h2>Raheem Sterling FPL prospects at Chelsea</h2>
<p>A big-money move to Chelsea would suggest Sterling is destined for more minutes in 2022/23 and therefore more fantasy points.</p>
<p>However, Thomas Tuchel&#8217;s rotation is as infamous as Pep Guardiola&#8217;s and with the fixture schedule more congested than ever, fantasy managers should brace themselves.</p>
<p>We could see a shift in formation at Chelsea, with a 4-3-3 setup where Sterling dominates the left wing.</p>
<p>Given the trend of minutes diminishing at Manchester City, Sterling is bound to be a better fantasy prospect in a Chelsea shirt going forward and should be a consideration for our Gameweek 1 squads.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s no doubt that Sterling provides consistency when he gets the minutes. However, at £10.0m , it&#8217;s still going to be a challenge to accommodate him in our fantasy squads as a third premium player, especially with the wealth of options in the £8.0m midfielder bracket.</p>
<h2>Chelsea Options</h2>
<p>Should Sterling become an integral part of the Chelsea starting lineup, <strong>Jorginho (£6.0m)</strong> could be a beneficiary in terms of fantasy points.</p>
<p>Sterling has won more penalties in Premier League history than any other player, drawing fouls for 23 spot-kicks.</p>
<p>Jorginho has one of the best penalty records in football, let alone the Premier League. He&#8217;s scored 38 of 45 spot-kicks, but did miss his last one in the Premier League in April, where Chelsea defeated West Ham 1-0.</p>
<p>If we do see Chelsea shift to a 4-3-3 to accommodate Sterling and make up for the lack of a traditional number nine, with Romelu Lukaku back at Inter Milan, it could impact Chelsea&#8217;s defensive prospects in FPL.</p>

<p><strong>Reece James (£6.0m)</strong> and <strong>Ben Chilwell (£6.0m)</strong> are enticing fantasy options due to their advanced role as wing-backs.</p>
<p>James matched <strong>Trent Alexander-Arnold</strong> and <strong>Andrew Robertson</strong> for goal involvements (14) among defenders last season, with Chilwell being top on the points per game metric.</p>
