Reece James picked up an injury in Chelsea&#8217;s Champions League against AC Milan on Tuesday (October 11) &#8211; but how serious is it, should FPL managers sell him and who could replace him if so?
The full-back, priced at £6.1m is 38.3% of FPL teams and is already the third-most transferred out player behind Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.3m) and Luis Diaz (£8.0m).

<h2>What happened to Reece James?</h2>
James lasted 62 minutes before being replaced by Cesar Azpilicueta (£4.8m) on Tuesday night after he sustained a knee injury.
It was described by Chelsea as a &#8216;<a href="https://www.chelseafc.com/en/match/milan-vs-chelsea-uefa-champions-league-2022-10-11">knock</a>&#8216; but no news was forthcoming from manager Graham Potter on its seriousness.
There were mixed reports in the following days, with the initial word being it was not as serious as first feared.
But before Potter&#8217;s press conference on Thursday, the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11315745/Chelseas-Reece-James-miss-World-Cup-England-struggling-knee-injury.html">Daily Mail</a> reported James could require surgery and his World Cup hopes may be in doubt.
<h2>What is the latest on Reece James&#8217;s injury?</h2>
Potter was asked to give an update on the Englishman at his press conference, ahead of Chelsea&#8217;s Premier League match against Aston Villa on Sunday.
He declined to comment on whether he could miss the World Cup.
He said: &#8220;He&#8217;s due to see a specialist at the weekend, so until we get that information there&#8217;s not too much else I can add unfortunately. The rest would just be speculation from my perspective, so we&#8217;ll wait and see.&#8221;
Potter said he had spoken to James yesterday and added: &#8220;He felt not too bad but again until you get these things checked you never know.&#8221;

<h2>Should I sell Reece James in FPL?</h2>
We do not know how long James will be out for &#8211; but FPL managers should note games come thick and fast over the coming days.
Gameweek 12 begins on Tuesday, with Chelsea playing Brentford on Wednesday.
The Blues then host Manchester United on Saturday in the 17:30 kick-off.
Even if it is a relatively short absence, James could still miss several games. That is likely to prompt many more managers to get rid.
Those who currently have James in their squads may also be short of players in Gameweek 12, when Arsenal and Manchester City blank.
<h2>Who are the options to replace Reece James in FPL?</h2>
James&#8217;s injury is a blow to FPL managers. According to the Hub&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11315745/Chelseas-Reece-James-miss-World-Cup-England-struggling-knee-injury.html">Predicted Points</a> tool, he was expected to be the highest-scoring defender in the game from now until Gameweek 16, when the league breaks for the World Cup.
But with Alexander-Arnold also a &#8216;major doubt&#8217; for Gameweek 11 and Joao Cancelo (£7.3m) without a fixture in Gameweek 12, managers are for now lacking premium options to replace him.
A downgrade to a defender priced under £5.0m is therefore one potential strategy.
Lewis Dunk (£4.6m) tops the predicted points charts for the next two weeks, with Brentford away and Nottingham Forest at home to come. Manchester City represent a much sterner test afterwards.
