<p>Austrian international striker Sasa Kalajdzic has signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers.</p>
<p>The 25-year-old will join from Stuttgart for a reported fee of £15m plus add-ons &#8211; but what are his fantasy football prospects?</p>

<h2>Sasa Kalajdzic &#8211; What kind of player is he?</h2>
<p>Standing at exactly two metres tall, or around 6ft 7ins, Sasa Kalajdzic has unsurprisingly drawn comparisons to Peter Crouch during his time in the Bundesliga.</p>
<p>Like Crouch, Kalajdzic is an effective header of the ball, and despite a relatively slender frame, possesses great strength too.</p>
<p>In terms of his finishing ability, the Austrian is a bit of a fox in the box, with the majority of his shots coming from inside the area.</p>
<p>He has demonstrated a clinical edge too, scoring 23 goals in just 41 Bundesliga starts for Stuttgart, as well as bagging four in 11 for his country.</p>
<p>Creativity is another of his assets, with Kalajdzic frequently bringing others into play, picking up 10 assists during his time at Stuttgart.</p>
<p>He has further displayed this passing ability by averaging around 1.5 key passes per game during this period, which suggests potential for further assists down the line.</p>
<p>Kalajdzic actually played as a midfielder in his youth, which may have helped him gain a unique understanding of the optimal positions to take up as a forward.</p>

<h2>Sasa Kalajdzic &#8211; Role at Wolves</h2>
<p>The new man&#8217;s role at Wolves will somewhat depend on the form and fitness of <strong>Raul Jimenez (£6.9m).</strong></p>
<p>The veteran Mexico striker didn&#8217;t start the first three games of the 2022/23 season, but played the full 90 minutes against Newcastle in Gameweek 4.</p>
<p>He has only managed one shot on target so far, and his place in the team looks far from nailed following the arrival of Kalajdzic.</p>
<p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-b88u0q r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Jimenez</span><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> did have a goal ruled out in Gameweek 4 however, after a foul by <strong>Pedro Neto (£5.3m)</strong> in the build-up, so we know his goal threat remains imminent.</span></p>

<p>Whether Bruno Lage would consider playing the two strikers together is another question.</p>
<p>Our initial thoughts are that this is fairly unlikely; currently Wolves are setting up in a 4-3-3, with two wingers either side of the striker, although they have frequently played with two up top as well.</p>
<p>In this &#8216;two up top&#8217; formation however, one of the two forwards tends to be a player in the mould of Neto, who runs the channels and creates space for the more traditional number nine.</p>
<p>But the likes of Neto playing the second-striker role does not necessarily rule out the possibility of Kalajdzic slotting in &#8211; it just means he would play the role in a very different way.</p>
<p>We know Jimenez likes to drop in and create chances for his team mates, <strong>Roberto Fimino (£8.0m) </strong>style, so perhaps the arrival of Kalajdzic will see the Mexican take up a slightly deeper role, allowing the towering Austrian to get forward into the areas where he is most effective.</p>
<p>All of this will all depend on whether the new man can form a relationship with Jimenez, and if so, they could become a formidable strikeforce.</p>
<p>If not, Jimenez will likely be the eventual fall guy, given that he is six years older than Kalajdzic.</p>
<p>As you can see from the average player positions in Wolves&#8217; last match, Neto was almost as high up as Jimenez even in a 4-3-3.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s certainly not unimaginable that Lage could risk playing his two strikers together, but it would likely require a change of formation, with width required from elsewhere.</p>

<h2>Sasa Kalajdzic &#8211; FPL prospects</h2>
<p>So, is Kalajdzic an FPL option right now?</p>
<p>It feels like the immediate answer is no.</p>
<p>There is simply too much competition in the forward position to take a punt on a player who is not guaranteed starts, when we have players like <strong>Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.7m) </strong>and <strong>Ivan Toney (£7.2m) </strong>returning points on a regular basis.</p>
<p>However, we don&#8217;t know what Kalajdzic will be priced in FPL yet, and if he comes in at £6.0m or below, perhaps we can consider him as a budget option.</p>
<p>There are plenty of creative midfielders and wingers in the Wolves squad, including new signing <strong>Goncalo Guedes (£6.0m), </strong>so you would expect Kalajdzic to receive ample opportunities to score in the long run.</p>
<p>We will know much more once we see the new man line up for Wolves.</p>
<p>If Lage does opt to transition to something like a 4-4-2, it boosts the prospects of Kalajdzic hugely, allowing him to start alongside Raul Jimenez.</p>
<p>On the other hand, should Jimenez pick up an injury or suspension, Kalajdzic immediately becomes a very solid pick, so this is something worth keeping an eye on.</p>

<h2>Sasa Kalajdzic &#8211; Sky, TFF and Dream Team prospects</h2>
<p>Goals and assists are important in all fantasy formats, but away from FPL, other factors are also in play.</p>
<p>Telegraph awards midfielders points for tackles, while in Sky points are available for passing, shots and tackle tiers.</p>
<p>Dream Team also uses WhoScored ratings and awards bonus points to the &#8216;star man&#8217; and those who have achieved a game rating of seven or above.</p>
<p>Kalajdzic was given an average WhoScored rating of 6.78 in the Bundesliga last season, and will be hoping to build on this as he moves into the peak years of his career.</p>
<p>In 2021/22, he averaged a total of 1.7 shots per game, all of which came inside the box.</p>
<p>He also attempted a respectable 21 passes per game, although only 64% of these were successful &#8211; and as is almost universally the case for strikers, some way short of the levels required for this type of bonus.</p>
