            <p>Manchester City forward <strong>Erling Haaland</strong> has disappointed in recent weeks, with one goal in four league games - but is there a genuine case to sell him in Fantasy Premier League (FPL)?</p>
<p>The Norwegian is the most expensive player in the game at £15.4m and also the highest owned, in around 73% of teams.</p>
<p>He is the league's top scorer, with 11 goals, but importantly he doesn't have the most FPL points.</p>
<p>That honour goes to <strong>Mohamed Salah</strong> - and with some managers considering switching these two premium picks, we take a look at the idea in more detail below.</p>

<h2>How many have sold Haaland ahead of FPL Gameweek 10?</h2>
<p>Before analysing the potential of a Haaland sale, it's important to put the issue in context.</p>
<p>At this stage, the number of FPL managers ditching Haaland is low.</p>
<p>As of Thursday morning, he was the 12th most sold player, with more than 80,000 transfers out.</p>
<p>But with 22,000 transfers in too, those who have had enough of the City striker remain a very small minority. His ownership has dropped about 0.2% since Tuesday.</p>
<p>Transfer activity is likely to increase as we approach Saturday's deadline, however it would be a surprise to see Haaland's popularity to dip significantly.</p>
<p>Salah is the sixth most popular transfer in, with 147,000 new owners. <strong>Bryan Mbeumo</strong> is the most popular purchase, with 374,000 purchases.</p>

<h2>Haaland's form: What do the stats say?</h2>
<p>Haaland is the only player to have scored 10 or more goals, with his total of 11 five more than Salah and <strong>Nicolas Jackson's </strong>six.</p>
<p>His  expected goals (xG) tally of 8.67 suggests he has over-performed to date, although his xG is still more than three ahead of Salah and Jackson.</p>
<p>This is despite three successive blanks between Gameweek 6 and 8, when his goal threat was low.</p>
<p>No one has a higher expected goal involvement than his 49%, although his 55% actual goal involvement is bettered by eight players including Salah (67%).</p>
<p>City are the most attacking team in the league, leading for goals scored (20) and xG (18.49).</p>
<p>Having a player with a high goal involvement and share of xG in an elite attacking team is an ideal combination.</p>
<p>So why are some looking at selling him?</p>
<p>Recent form is always a major influence in FPL managers' thinking - and his one goal in four games is a long way from the first four matches of the season, when he scored nine.</p>

<p>His downturn in form also coincides with other premiums performing well.</p>
<p>While Haaland has 12 points since Gameweek 6, <strong>Cole Palmer </strong>has more than anyone with 43 - and Salah is second on 35.</p>
<p>Budget strikers such as <strong>Chris Wood </strong>have also outscored him, with the Nottingham Forest forward netting four goals.</p>
<p>Many were expecting a big haul against struggling Southampton at home at the weekend but were underwhelmed with City and Haaland scoring a single goal.</p>
<p>The absence of <strong>Rodri </strong>and <strong>Kevin De Bruyne </strong>is a concern. With both of them out since Gameweek 6, City's attacking is only seventh best in that time.</p>
<p>De Bruyne is not expected to be fit until after the international break, which falls between Gameweek 11 and 12, and Rodri is out for the season.</p>
<p>City picked up further injuries in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, including creative spark <strong>Savinho</strong> who was stretchered off.</p>
<p>All this helps to build a narrative that Haaland does not currently justify his price.</p>
<p>But it's also worth noting he recorded his biggest xG of the season against Saints (2.33), with four big chances coming his way.</p>

<p>According to Hub records, he has only once managed a larger xG in a single game - back in Gameweek 5 of last season (2.57).</p>
<p>All things considered, Haaland is likely to remain one of the league's best goalscorers and the data does not suggest he is a must sell.</p>
<p>Fixtures do however play a part in our decision making and brings other premiums into the conversation.</p>

<h2>Do the fixtures make selling Haaland an option?</h2>
<p>City rank 19th on our <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker">customisable fixture ticker</a> over the next four gameweeks, with their only home game against Spurs.</p>
<p>Liverpool have the fourth easiest run and the best of the teams with the main premium players - Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal and City.</p>
<p>The Reds have three home games in this time, with Southampton in Gameweek 12 their only away game.</p>
<p>This is one of the main arguments for swapping Haaland for Salah.</p>

<p>Things change from Gameweek 14 onwards, with City the pick of the selected teams and third overall.</p>
<p>The advantage in Liverpool's favour therefore looks greatest in the short-term but those looking at a Haaland to Salah swap should also think of the bigger picture too.</p>
<p>Chelsea have the worst games of the five teams in this portion of the season, although their run is still reasonable, ranking 10th.</p>

<p>Looking at the fixtures from Gameweek 10 to 20, the ticker shows that teams' toughest fixtures - highlighted in red - tend to come in short bursts of one or two games.</p>
<p>Chelsea have a difficult next two but a strong set of games from Gameweek 12, while Arsenal's outlook looks similar.</p>
<p>City and Liverpool face each other in Gameweek 13, so alternative captains aside from Salah and Haaland look a good bet that week.</p>
<p>Salah also doesn't look to be the optimum captain in Gameweek 14 when Liverpool travel to Newcastle.</p>
<p>Spurs have the pick of the Gameweek 11 match-ups, however City away in Gameweek 12 may provide a hop-off point for <strong>Son Heung-min </strong>owners.</p>
<p>In order to avoid too much swapping around to take full advantage of the best fixtures, some FPL managers are looking to move from a two to a three-premium structure in the coming weeks.</p>
