<h2>ShePlays WSL Round 3 team of the week</h2>
ShePlays WSL Fantasy Round 3 was one for anyone in blue, with Everton, Manchester City and Chelsea all featuring in the team of the round. 
Like last round, the optimum team was a 5-3-2 formation, once again highlighting the value of defenders. 
Khadija Shaw was the top scorer of the round with 24 points, scoring two goals in her return to the starting line up after a bit of time off due to injury. 
Overall, this team would have earned you 209 points. There are no returners from last round but Laia Aleixandri, Jill Roord and Katie Zelemall make their second appearances after being in the Round 1 team of the week.

<h3>Jill Roord (£450,000) &#8211; Manchester City</h3>
Fixture: Leicester City (A)
Roord has returned to the WSL with a vengeance. Signing with City from German powerhouse and UWCL finalists Wolfsburg, she has started every match so far this season. 
With little other summer movements, Roord has perhaps surprisingly walked into the starting lineup in place of England international Laura Coombs. 
In the opening three matches, Roord has scored three goals, continuing on from her impressive World Cup form. 
If you think Roord’s points are just as a result of an impressive City system, she is outperforming her expected goals (xG) of 1.7. 
In previous seasons, Roord has been a confidence player and can rack up many goals and points in quick succession, so it&#8217;s best to get her in when she&#8217;s in form.
Next up for City is an away trip to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester. The Foxes have had an impressive start to the season, with two wins and a draw. 
Both of last season’s fixtures were won by City 4-0 and 2-0. However, Leicester have already outperformed expectations after being in a relegation battle last season.
Roord is one of the most selected players in ShePlays WSL, featuring in 44% of teams heading into Round 4, so don’t miss out!
<h3>Khadija Shaw (£800,000) &#8211; Manchester City</h3>
Fixture: Leicester City (A)
Player of Round 3 and player of the season for 2022/23, forward Shaw has made a welcome return to the City starting lineup. 
A prolific goalscorer, she netted two goals from 10 shots (five on target) against Bristol City.
 Despite not scoring as many goals as Rachel Daly last season, Shaw scored 54 more points due to her greater attack and defence point record. 
She is arguably a must-have player for WSL Fantasy and is also a very reliable captain selection. 
Shaw scored three goals against Leicester last season, managing 18 points in the home fixture and 17 points away.  The Jamaican international is only selected by 17% of teams heading into Round 4.

<h3>Janina Leitzig (£250,000) &#8211; Leicester</h3>
Fixture: Manchester City (H)
Janina Leitzig has been the top-performing goalkeeper so far this season. With 13 goalkeeper points, she is one point short of being top in that category too. 
She has made 12 saves so far this season, including a penalty save in Round 2 against Everton. 
Leitzig was also crucial last season for Leicester in their efforts to stay in the WSL after transferring in January on loan from Bayern Munich. 
She kept five clean sheets from 13 matches and was in goal for all of Leicester’s five wins last season. To many fans&#8217; delight, Leiztig signed a permanent deal with The Foxes over the summer, having been voted the fan’s player of the season for 2022/23. 
Leicester face City at home this weekend. It&#8217;s a challenging match-up for the side but there&#8217;s potential for Leitzig to earn plenty of goalkeeper points from saves, claims and smothers if she can keep out the City attack. 
Leitzig is currently selected by 13% of teams.
<h3>Alessia Russo (£800,000) &#8211; Arsenal</h3>
Fixture: Bristol City (A)
Russo and Arsenal have had a slow start to the season but after an emphatic finish against Aston Villa, both Russo and the Gunners opened their 2023/24 accounts. 
Russo had a highly publicised move to the North London side from Manchester United. With Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema still working their way back to full fitness from ACL injuries, Russo has a lot of expectations on her young shoulders. 
However, scoring the winning goal at the Emirates in front of 35,000 fans has got to boost her confidence. 
The Gunners head to Bristol this weekend to play the newly promoted Bristol City. The Robins have struggled since joining the WSL, letting in 12 goals so far in the campaign. 
Arsenal and Russo will be looking at this match as one to help kick-start their season. Last time Arsenal played Bristol City in the WSL, the result was a 4-0 victory.
Russo currently features in 23% of teams.

<h3>Martha Thomas (£400,000) &#8211; Tottenham Hotspur</h3>
Fixture: Aston Villa (A)
Thomas scored a goal in all three league matches this season and has also been extremely consistent in her ShePlays WSL Fantasy scoring, with 14, 13, and 13 points each match. 
She moved to Spurs from Manchester United over the summer in search of more minutes. Her performances to date have proven her more than deserving of the trust from new manager Robert Vilahamn. 
Half of Thomas’ shots have been on target this season and she has recorded nine shot-creating actions. She also scored in Spurs&#8217; first WSL Cup match, coming on in the 65th minute and finding the back of the net just seven minutes later. 
Spurs match up against Villa for Round 4. Villa were the best of the rest last season, but are yet to get a win so far this season. The match will be one to watch this weekend, with Spurs looking to solidify their strong start to the season and Villa hoping to get their first points after a disappointing start. 
Thomas has been selected by 14% teams heading into Round 4.
