<p>The data above provides us a quick view of <strong>who has hit the bonus tiers for</strong> <strong>Liverpool.</strong></p>
<p>Unsurprisingly, <strong>Mohamed Salah </strong>tops the chart in pretty much every stat you look at in any format of the game. As we can see (goalkeeper aside), there are <strong>three main Liverpool players who regularly hit bonus points</strong>.</p>
<p>Perhaps the interesting place to look is for the assets below Salah, who stick out for those looking at a double up. From the bonus points and general <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> there are two head-to-heads both defensively and offensively.</p>
<p>Starting form a defensive stand point, both <strong>Trent Alexander-Arnold</strong> and<strong> Virgil Van Dijk </strong>have really increased their output in recent weeks. They&#8217;re beginning to prove their worth to potential fantasy managers (especially in the Dutchman&#8217;s case). Van Dijk is more assured of passing bonus and can provide the odd headed goal, whereas his young English counterpart is less assured of passing but his attacking potential is unstoppable.</p>
<p>Alexander-Arnold&#8217;s <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> get better and better each year. So far he has played the most key passes in the whole league with 58; only <strong>Bruno Fernandes </strong>with 57 comes close (the next best has 41). He&#8217;s also created the most big chances &#8211; only <strong>Jarred Bowen </strong>has more assists in the league this season. <strong>Joao Cancelo </strong>is also the only defender who has had more shots on target than him.</p>
<p>Moving onto the attacking headache of <strong>Sadio Mane </strong>or <strong>Diogo Jota. </strong>Jota has traditionally been the super sub and less of a safe pick, but actually when you dig into the <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> this season, there is nothing between the two of them, with very similar minutes played as well.</p>

<p>Given both Salah and Mane are returning from AFCON, <strong>I feel Jota is likely to still get a large proportion of game time</strong> so, given the £1.6m saving between the two, he&#8217;s the more viable option.</p>
<p>Similar to Jota, if you could be assured <strong>Joel Matip </strong>was going to play the large majority of remaining games, I feel he would be a stand out pick above Van Dijk. I just don&#8217;t think we can risk it.</p>

<p>Above is a list of players that have either fallen five passes short of passing bonus tier, or one tackle short of tackle bonus tier.</p>
<p>As we can see <strong>Joel Matip </strong>has been close on seven separate occasions along with <strong>Fabinho, </strong>and if anything was to happen to <strong>Ibrahima Konate, </strong>he would jump right to the top of my thinking.</p>

<p>I have adapted the above table from a data download again from <a href="https://www.ffstuff.co.uk/">FF Stuff</a> to show us the best value players in the game, which could help us if we are looking to beef up our team with lots of premium assets.</p>
<p>I have split out the final two columns to show the best value over the season as well as the previous six weeks or so to give us a better oversight of the &#8216;in form&#8217; options. I would consider anyone around the 0.9 PPGPM mark worthy of strong consideration.</p>
<p>In terms of value, Liverpool have quite a few players are in and around the 0.8 mark recently, with lots at 0.7 for the season. The two right at the top I have my reservations over.</p>
<p><strong>Andrew Robertson </strong>is just a bit too overpriced for me, particularly when you can spend £0.1m more for Van Dijk or £0.4m for Alexander-Arnold. And <strong>Alisson</strong> isn&#8217;t as desirable as other keeper options in the game.</p>
<p><strong>Thiago </strong>has always been an interesting option if he can nail down a starting place but his injury history seems to make that unlikely.</p>

<h2>Fixture Analysis &#8211; Sky Fantasy Football Overhaul</h2>

<p>The fixture chart above from <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/ian-parrins-sky-transfer-toolkit/">Ian&#8217;s Sky Fixture Planner</a> shows the fixtures currently pencilled in up to the end of March, it also shows the rearranged games still remaining for each team.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s also worth bearing in mind that fixtures on the weekend of the 18th March are likely to change due to the FA Cup involvement.</p>
<p>The interesting dilemma with <strong>Liverpool </strong>assets is they have a blank coming up due to their appearance in the <strong>Carabao Cup Final</strong>. They only have six games pencilled in (however they do have the potential to play 1 of their rearrangements in that time).</p>
<p>I would be tempted to go without <strong>Mohamed Salah </strong>until the beginning of March given some teams play five times over <strong>Liverpool&#8217;s</strong> three. However, when two of those three games are against Burnley and Norwich I think it&#8217;s too risky to go without. And I think given those two games it&#8217;s also viable to have a Liverpool defender given the opportunity of clean sheet and bonus points.</p>
<p>UPDATE</p>
<p><strong>Liverpool</strong> have had the rearranged game vs <strong>Leeds</strong> added at the end of February, which doesn&#8217;t change much in terms of wanting more assets but probably cements any lingering doubts about going without <strong>Mohamed Salah</strong> at the start of overhaul.</p>

<p>My main pick currently would obviously be <strong>Mohamed Salah </strong>just because he is the best player in the game. I will also currently start with <strong>Trent Alexander-Arnold </strong>as his <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> are just unbelievable for a defender and don&#8217;t show any sigs of slowing down.</p>
