Mikel Arteta believes his side "threw it away" against Burnley when Granit Xhaka was dismissed for violent conduct. The Gunners were in control for large parts, without really troubling Nick Pope, but just before the hour mark, Xhaka grabbed Burnley midfielder, Ashley Westwood, by the throat and received a straight red from referee Graham Scott. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finally ended his goal drought; unfortunately, it was at the wrong end, heading into his own net past Bernd Leno. Dani Ceballos is likely to be handed a recall while Nicolas Pepe is available once again if Arteta wants to freshen his frontline. However, the Frenchman hasn't been pulling up any trees in the Europa League.

Other than long-term absentee Florin Andone, who stepped up his recovery from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament on Monday, Graham Potter could have close to a full-strength squad. Adam Lallana has rejoined the group ahead of the game, and the early signs are promising. "He has been training, so that's good news for him and us, we will see how he is tomorrow. There's a good chance he's going to be involved." A groin issue kept Adam Webster amongst the substitutes on Sunday while Tariq Lamptey missed out altogether as a precaution. "They have trained today, so that's good for us," said Potter. "We will have to see how they react and what the response is. As I said before Leicester, the game came a little bit too soon for them, but we're hopeful for Wednesday as it stands."

"From now on to avoid any backlash, I will not continue to give answers on the players who can or cannot play." However, the Argentine did confirm, when asked, that Patrick Bamford had not picked up a knock. The Lilywhites have four players currently sidelined and none are expected to recover.
