<h2>Five teams with not much to play for in the Premier League:</h2>
<ul>
<li>Southampton</li>
<li>Brentford</li>
<li>Aston Villa</li>
<li>Brighton</li>
<li>Crystal Palace</li>
</ul>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>There are two things to bear in mind with these teams:</p>
<p>Firstly, teams statistically do perform <strong>worse</strong> when they have &#8220;nothing to play for.&#8221; Approximately, they tend to sit five points worse off, based on a recent FPL study that was conducted to this end.</p>
<p>Secondly, I think the <strong>desires of individuals</strong> are often overlooked in this period. Some players will be trying to ensure they receive their bonuses, some are looking for a move next season, some want a new contract or need to ensure they aren&#8217;t sold, managers need to finish strongly so they have more money to recruit, etc.</p>
<p>The list of factors is endless, and very often in the footballing community, we forget that these players are human. They will naturally have desires of their own to pursue, and ulterior motives to the ones so commonly perceived.</p>

<h2>Southampton:</h2>
<p>Southampton have a pretty good fixture run from now until the end 0f the season. A double in Gameweek 33, and a sea of green in the FDR until Gameweek 37, where they face Liverpool and then Leicester on the last day. Neither of those fixtures are too bad either in my opinion: Liverpool&#8217;s high line against Southampton&#8217;s system screams a game filled with goals, and Leicester still have a leaky defence.</p>

<p>The three players managers will be looking at are <strong>James Ward Prowse (£6.4m), Che Adams (£6.8m)</strong> and <strong>Armando Broja (£5.5m)</strong>.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t imagine any of these players will be a rotation risk. Ward-Prowse has played 90 minutes in every game since Gameweek 11, and historically this trend is prevalent. Che Adams has looked very bright this season, and I expect he will want to continue to impress to ensure his starting spot in the Scotland side for the qualifiers.</p>
<p>With Broja being a young player, I imagine Hasenhuttl will give him as much game time as possible. Considering he is very likely to return to Chelsea, and with their current striker issues, a small window of opportunity presents itself there.</p>

<h2>Brentford:</h2>

<p>With the plethora of midfield and defensive options, <strong>Ivan Toney (£6.9m)</strong> is likely the only Brentford asset to be targeted by managers, for what is a decent fixture run from now until the end of the season; nothing more, nothing less.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t imagine Toney will be rested at all. The fixture schedule is demanding, and looking at statistical evidence, every game he has been fit for in the Premier League this season, he has played 90 minutes.</p>
<p>He will be looking to finish the season strongly, as there have been talks about a potential big transfer move for him.</p>
<p>Finally, having watched him in interviews, it&#8217;s clear he radiates confidence and ambition. Whilst he&#8217;s 8 goals off the golden boot leader, I imagine that will be in the back of his mind. Of course, he is very unlikely to win it, but I imagine he will want to make inroads nonetheless.</p>

<h2>Aston Villa:</h2>
<p>I have no doubt there will be minimal rotation in this side. Steven Gerrard has constantly talked about the long term project at Villa, and will use the remainder of the season where there is less pressure to improve his side and try out tactical ideas.</p>
<p>Villa have looked very poor at the back, and as such I don&#8217;t suggest going for their defensive assets, especially with &#8220;big at the back&#8221; likely to become a more and more popular strategy over the coming weeks. They will act as blockers to getting premium defenders in.</p>
<p><strong>Ollie Watkins (£7.4m)</strong> and <strong>Philippe Coutinho (£7.2m)</strong> however, look to be vital cogs in Gerrard&#8217;s system. As such, I expect minimal rotation for the pair, as Gerrard starts his preparation for next season.</p>

<p>Watkins has missed just nine minutes since Gameweek 27, and has looked far better as of late, compared to the games prior to Gameweek 27.</p>
<p>Coutinho is somewhat more of a problem, as whilst he starts, he rarely completes 90 minutes. Therefore, I wouldn&#8217;t be surprised if he gets rested for at least one game.</p>
<p>For that reason, and the dearth of strikers, Watkins looks the better pick.</p>
<h2>Brighton:</h2>
<p>Given their difficult fixture run from now until the end of the season, combined with the fact they are in poor form, I wouldn&#8217;t recommend targeting their assets.</p>

<p>Another problem with Potter&#8217;s side is that he rotates the players far more than most managers. Additionally, the system changes slightly in some games, making it even more unpredictable as to what side he may put out.</p>

<h2>Crystal Palace:</h2>
<p>Finally, we move onto Crystal Palace.</p>
<p>The Eagles have a fantastic fixture run from now until the end of the season. Additionally, with Viera building a project here, I expect a similar approach to Gerrard, where he will use these games to improve his side for next season whilst simultaneously trying a few things out.</p>
<p>As such, I don&#8217;t expect too much rotation especially not for his key men: <strong>Conor Gallagher (£6.1m), Wilfred Zaha (£6.8m)</strong> and <strong>Marc Guehi (£4.5m)</strong>.</p>

<p>History shows that when these guys are fit, they play 90 minutes. All three will be very good options for the run in, especially with the double in Gameweek 37.</p>
<p>Finally, a lot of people have been looking at <strong>Jean-Phillippe Mateta (£5.3m)</strong> as a budget enabling striker. Given the fact Viera rarely lets him complete 90 minutes, I imagine that he will certainly rotate the man at points, and bench him on occasion. Hence, if you are bringing him into your squad, don&#8217;t rely on him as one of your first choice XI.</p>
