Who are the best Manchester United FPL players for the 2024/25 season?

<h2>Best Manchester United players: Injury concerns ahead of Gameweek 1</h2>
Injuries were a major issue for United last season, particularly in defence, where Erik ten Hag was forced to use dozens of player combinations at the back.
And it doesn&#8217;t look like things are getting much better going into 2024/25, with players picking up pre-season problems.
Rasmus Hojlund suffered a hamstring injury and is reportedly out for around six weeks. This would put him out until the September international break.
New centre-back Leny Yoro could be out even longer with a foot injury. Three months is the rumoured timeframe for the 18-year-old.
On a positive note, Luke Shaw returned to action in the latter stages of Euro 2024 &#8211; but how many minutes the left-back will play in the early part of the season is unclear.

<h2>Best Manchester United players: Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m)</h2>
Fernandes is the clear number-one FPL option among the United squad.
He is their best player, with the joint-most goals and most assists, and can always be relied on to play nearly every minute.
The Portuguese midfielder is United&#8217;s chief creator &#8211; and his data in this regard makes him one of the best in the league.
He recorded 23 big chances created last season, level with Mohamed Salah, with his expected assists (xA) of 10.23 behind only Bukayo Saka (10.9).
Fernandes dominates set-pieces, taking the majority of corners, free-kicks and penalties, giving him multiple routes to points.
At the time of writing, he was ranked by Hub AI as the second best midfield pick at £8.5m and below.
His 21.2 predicted points over the first four gameweeks was seventh best among all midfielders, however bar Eberechi Eze, those ahead of him would cost FPL managers at least £1.0m more.

<h2>Best Manchester United players: Alejandro Garnacho (£6.5m)</h2>
Garnacho had a breakthrough season in 2023/24, nailing down a spot in the United attack and playing 36 league games.
He has had a price rise to £6.5m as a result but he could still prove good value.
The Argentine youngster, 20, was second among United players for goal involvements, scoring seven and assisting seven.
He loves a shot, leading teammates for his total (100) and shots in the box (81). They were not always accurate though, with just 28 of his 100 on target.
He under-performed his expected goals (xG) tally of 8.23, with 13 big chances coming his way, but this is something that will hopefully improve as he develops as a player.
Garnacho can play on either wing, something which should help his expected minutes should Marcus Rashford find his form.
The good pre-season form of Amad Diallo will make the Ivorian an early contender for minutes on the right, however Garnacho should be a key man.
He was part of the victorious Argentina Copa America squad, which could potentially impact his involvement in Gameweek 1, but he only played a limited role in the tournament.

<h2>Best Manchester United players 2023/24: Marcus Rashford (£7.0m)</h2>
United&#8217;s defensive data did not inspire confidence in 2023/24 &#8211; and the injury to Yoro makes it difficult to recommend their backline for Gameweek 1.
The Red Devils conceded the second most shots last season, even more than relegated Luton and Burnley.
They largely had Andre Onana to thank for keeping their goals conceded around 10 short of their expected goals conceded (xGC), and the United number one could be an option at some stage this season.
But given the uncertainty over how they will perform at the back, we&#8217;ve opted for Rashford as our third United pick.
In reality, tripling up on United players will not be a popular strategy for FPL managers. Many will be debating whether to go with Fernandes or no one from ten Hag&#8217;s squad.
Rashford has however shown glimpses of form in pre-season, scoring one and assisting two to date.
He comes into 2024/25 on the back of a poor season. He scored seven and assisted three &#8211; a huge drop off from his 17 goals and seven assists of the campaign before.
The form of Garnacho sometimes relegated Rashford to the bench but a fresh start and a boost in confidence in pre-season will hopefully make this season a better one.
He picked up a knock in United&#8217;s friendly against Real Betis but it is not expected to rule him out of action for an extended period.
