<h2>The Best UCL Fantasy Goalkeepers for the Round of 16</h2>
Ederson (€6.0m) – Manchester City 
It may come as shock to most, but Manchester City did not keep a clean sheet in the group stage, conceding nine goals.
Ederson is also one of the most expensive goalkeepers in the game, so why is he a top pick for the Round of 16?
The answer is simple. Manchester City are one of the favourites to win this year’s UEFA Champions League, they have one of the best defenses in the English Premier League and they are up against Sporting Lisbon.
Manchester City will be heavily favourited heading into this Round of 16 matchup and should manage at least one clean sheet across the two games.

Edouard Mendy is the second highest priced goalkeeper in the competition but for good reason. Through five games in the group stage, Mendy only conceded once, keeping four clean sheets (he was benched for Chelsea’s last fixture).
Chelsea play Lille in the Round of 16 and will be heavy favourites to move on.
Lille did score seven goals in the group stage however Chelsea’s defensive quality should show through to keep at least one clean sheet in the two games.

Joao Cancelo (€6.5m) – Manchester City
Joao Cancelo finished the group stage as the highest scoring defender despite not playing in the final game.
The Portuguese complied two goals and three assists while also picking up ball recovery points.
Cancelo has a good chance to pick up clean sheets along with attacking returns, making him a top defender pick for the Round of 16.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (€6.5m) – Liverpool 
Trent Alexander-Arnold only played in three of the six group stage fixtures however he did register two assists and is one of the best assets in the game.
Liverpool play Inter Milan in the Round of 16 which is not an easy fixture for clean sheets, however Alexander-Arnold’s attacking threat makes him a top defender pick. He can score, pick up assists and is on set pieces.

Bayern play Salzburg in the Round of 16 and while clean sheets may be tough to come by (Salzburg scored eight goals in the group stage), his offensive threat make him a top defensive pick.
 
Antonio Rudiger (€5.9m) – Chelsea
Chelsea play Lille in the Round of 16 and having at least one of their defenders should prove a shrewd move for managers.
Chelsea should keep at least one clean sheet and will be favoured to move on, so having a defensive asset will be a good long-term strategy.
Antonio Rudiger is the top pick as he is the most nailed player in Thomas Tuchel’s defence and will play both fixtures. He offers some offensive threat which is a bonus but also chips in with ball recovery points.
Keep an eye on the status of Reece James (€5.5m) as he would be the top Chelsea defensive pick if fit and playing regular minutes.

<h2>The Best UCL Fantasy Midfielders for the Round of 16</h2>
Kevin De Bruyne (€10.9m) – Manchester City
With only two assists in the group stage along his price tag, Kevin De Bruyne could be overlooked in the Round of 16. This, however, shouldn’t be the case.
De Bruyne is back fit, meaning he will play in both games and Manchester City should score goals against Sporting. He was also rested at the weekend in the Premier League.
De Bruyne has the opportunity for goals and assists and is also on quite a few set pieces which further increases his appeal.
He is the most experience midfielder in the game so his teammates Phil Foden (€8.2m) and Riyad Mahrez (€9.4m) are also great picks however they don’t come with the assured starts like the Belgium midfielder.

To go without the Egyptian King is a major risk to a manager’s rank.
 
Leroy Sane (€9.4m) – Bayern Munich 
The former Manchester City product leads all players for points in the group stage with 65. Sane finished with five goals, four assists and his playing some of the best football of his career.
Bayern Munich have an attractive matchup against Salzburg in the Round of 16 and will be favourites to move on.
Sane is nailed on to start and playing in a high-powered attack. He is a great pick at his price tag.

Arnaut Danjuma (€6.8m) – Villareal 
The Villareal product finished the group stage as the third highest scoring midfielder with four goals and two assists.
He is central to Villareal’s offense and is nailed to start making him an attractive option at his price point.
Villareal play Juventus in the Round of 16 which is no walk in the park however they should score and Danjuma is the heartbeat to their attack.

<h2>The Best UCL Fantasy Forwards for the Round of 16</h2>
Robert Lewandowski (€12.0m) – Bayern Munich 
The 2022 Men’s FIFA Player of the Year was the third highest scoring player in the group stage as Lewandowski finished the group stage with nine goals and two assists.
Bayern Munich play Salzburg making the world class striker one of the best players (and forwards) for the Round of 16.
Bayern score a lot of goals and Lewandowski is undoubtedly their talisman. He will also be a top captaincy option throughout the rest of the competition (as long as Bayern aren’t on the end of an upset).

Romelu Lukaku (€10.6m) – Chelsea 
Lukaku has had a bumpy month or so at Chelsea however he is the talisman for the defending European Champions who are playing Lille.
The Belgian played four games in the group stage, finishing with two goals but should have plenty of opportunities to increase his tally in the Round of 16.

Another year older and a new team didn’t seem to stop Ronaldo’s production, finishing the group stage with six goals. Even in a tough fixture, Ronaldo is a top pick for the Round of 16.

Sebastien Haller (€9.3m) – Ajax 
Somewhat surprisingly the ex-West Ham product finished the group stage with the second most points, totalling 10 goals and one assist.
Ajax are playing some great football under Erik ten Hag and the main beneficiary has been Haller. He is in the form of his life and Ajax play Benfica which adds to his appeal for the Round of 16.
 
The best budget forward options for the Round of 16: Diogo Jota (€8.4m) – Liverpool, Karim Adeyemi (€7.7m) – Salzburg. Another option is Juventus key winter signing Dusan Vlahovic (€9.3m) who is new to the game for the rest of the competition.
