<p>Welcome to my last article of the season! It&#8217;s been fantastic producing content throughout the year and I wish you a green arrow to cap off what&#8217;s been a very eventful season .</p>

<h2>The Opportunity of Gameweek 38</h2>
<p>The final day of the Premier League season always has something magical in the air. There are goals, and lots of them.</p>
<p>Over the last ten seasons, the average number of goals scored in Gameweek 38 has always exceeded the season average. That&#8217;s quite remarkable. Last year, the season&#8217;s average was exceeded by 0.41 goals per game, and prior to that the discrepancy has been as big as 0.9 goals per game.</p>
<p>The last six seasons have produced a minimum of 30 goals on their final day.</p>
<p>Goals galore means opportunities galore for FPL managers. With no asset being attached to their long term prospect, a few managers always find a diamond in the rough with very little effective ownership, catapulting their rank above their mini-league rivals and thousands of players.</p>
<p>Last year <strong>Pablo Fornals</strong> was that player, and the rest of the article is dedicated to showing you who might just end up becoming your favourite FPL asset come 4:50pm on Sunday this week.</p>

<h2>The Gameweek 38 FPL Players to Target</h2>
<p>Captaining <strong>Harry Kane (£12.4m)</strong> or <strong>Heung-Min Son (£11.2m)</strong> is by no means limiting yourself. The players discussed below aren&#8217;t necessarily captaincy shouts: owning them should be enough.</p>
<p>This is more for managers who are chasing a somewhat significant rise in their rank and don&#8217;t feel their current team is differential/strong enough to do so.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m still undecided as to whether captain Kane or <strong>Kevin De Bruyne (£12.1m)</strong>, and it will likely come down to the wire. However, if this was any gameweek prior, I doubt I&#8217;d give it more than a minute&#8217;s thought.</p>

<h3>Sadio Mane (£11.8m)</h3>
<p><strong>Effective ownership = 1.95%</strong></p>
<p>Sadio Mane is my favourite differential of the bunch. With uncertainties regarding <strong>Mohammed Salah&#8217;s</strong> fitness, and many managers wanting an alternative to <strong>Heung-Min Son (£11.2m)</strong> who&#8217;s likely to be around an effective ownership of 145-165%, I see him as a perfect candidate.</p>
<p>Mane has passed the eye test with flying colours as of late, and it&#8217;s his new role which has slightly gone under the radar that he&#8217;s thrived in.</p>
<p>He&#8217;s almost been playing as a false nine, coming deep to link up the play with the midfield trio and consistently operating in very central areas between the lines. He uses his movement and intelligence to drag opposition centre-backs to areas of the pitch they are uncomfortable in.</p>
<p>He&#8217;s not as elegant as <strong>Roberto Firmino</strong> in his work, nor is his role exactly same. Mane has a better goal scoring instinct, which shouldn&#8217;t and hasn&#8217;t been subdued. He plays in more advanced areas of the pitch on a more consistent basis.</p>
<p>Goal scoring opportunities tend to show themselves more to players when in these central areas. Mane&#8217;s goal involvement since Gameweek 32 is 33%, compared to a season average of 25%. His last Premier League performance against Aston Villa (who provide a similar challenge to Wolves) epitomises his ability in this role.</p>
<p>Wolves have been very poor for a while now, and with Liverpool&#8217;s destiny out of their hands, I expect a free flowing show for the fans on the last day. Wolves seriously lack a counter-press, I imagine they will see very little of the ball and concede a lot of territory. This is fantastic for Mane as he won&#8217;t have to drop as deep when building the play.</p>
<p>Finally, he scored a brace against Palace on the last day in the previous season, and is a man for the big occasion as we have seen earlier in the campaign.</p>
<p>Apart from his price, he looks a fantastic option.</p>

<h3>Ivan Toney (£6.8m):</h3>
<p><strong>Effective ownership = 0.66%</strong></p>
<p><strong>Christian Eriksen</strong> was very close to making an appearance alongside Toney in this section. However, given the fact managers are spoilt for choice in the midfield department, I didn&#8217;t feel I could justify him because of the limited ceiling (drops deeper to control games when winning, as seen at Everton).</p>
<p>Toney has had a very good first season, registering 12 goals + five assists. Given his personality, I&#8217;m sure he would love to build on that. He&#8217;s nailed to play 90 minutes, has penalties and is involved in a lot of attacks.</p>
<p>From a <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/">statistical perspective</a> he&#8217;s doing fantastically as of late. He&#8217;s registered an xGI of 4.0 since Gameweek 32, which is the 7th highest in the league. His fixtures have included the likes of Spurs, West Ham and Manchester Utd.</p>
<p>He faces a Leeds side who aren&#8217;t great defensively, especially with <strong>Luke Ayling</strong> missing. They have to better Burnley&#8217;s result to ensure survival, so it&#8217;s likely they&#8217;ll be forced to play in somewhat of an open manner. When they do that, there&#8217;s every chance of a team putting a lot past them.</p>
<p>Fixture wise, I don&#8217;t see much better, and he&#8217;s an easy route from the likes of <strong>Danny Ings, Wout Weghorst, Emmanuel Dennis</strong> and even <strong>Armando Broja.</strong></p>

<h3>Raheem Sterling (£10.5m):</h3>
<p><b>Effective Ownership: 0.97%</b></p>
<p>To conclude my three suggestions, another ultra-differential. When I searched up his price, I was actually quite surprised. He&#8217;s a decent bit cheaper than I anticipated and as such, manager&#8217;s routes to him won&#8217;t be as demanding.</p>
<p>Manchester City will be crowned champions should they beat Aston Villa regardless of anything else, and I&#8217;m expecting a party atmosphere at the Etihad.</p>
<p>Aston Villa have looked very poor in recent times, a counter press which impressed me earlier in the season has dwindled down to below average. Players have been fairly average themselves on the whole with few commendable performances on a macro-scale. They don&#8217;t look horrible going forward and there&#8217;s still some glimpses of very good attacking play, but they do look susceptible to conceding against all teams.</p>
<p>Sterling, on the contrary, is in fantastic form. He scored thrice and notched an assist in his last appearances in Double Gameweek 36. Against a Villa side who I imagine will leave space in behind to exploit, combined with the fact they don&#8217;t protect the wider areas very well; a Sterling haul is certainly on the cards.</p>
<p>He&#8217;s a player with an extremely high ceiling as seen in previous games, and if it&#8217;s his day he could provide you with a meteoric rank rise.</p>

<h3>Additional Thoughts</h3>
<p><strong>Mason Mount (£7.7m, EO: sub 25%)</strong> and <strong>Callum Wilson (£7.1m, EO: 0%)</strong> earn themselves an honourable mention. With Mount facing a very poor and defensively weak Watford side, in front of a home crowd on the last day whilst he&#8217;s been rested prior, you can expect a haul with a certain degree of confidence.</p>

<p>Callum Wilson has looked unbelievably good since he&#8217;s been back against the likely champions and Arsenal. I expect Burnley to provide a tough test, but with the way he&#8217;s been playing I wouldn&#8217;t be surprised to see him collect returns.</p>
<p>Given the effective ownership of <strong>James Maddison</strong> he&#8217;s not that much of a differential anymore, but would be as a captain against an awful Southampton team (form wise). <strong>Jamie Vardy (£10.3m, EO: 20%)</strong> could easily have found himself on the main list, but it&#8217;s just difficult to get to him if you don&#8217;t currently own him. I also fancy <strong>Wilfred Zaha</strong> to put on a show against Manchester Utd for all the managers who brought him in this week.</p>
<p>I prefer <strong>Kane</strong> to <strong>Son</strong> for the captaincy.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t sell <strong>Kevin De Bruyne</strong> as your avenue to these differentials, he has huge haul potential against Villa.</p>
<p><strong>Jarrod Bowen (£6.8m), </strong>whilst he&#8217;s had a great season and is in great form, has a tough fixture away at Brighton. As such I&#8217;d steer clear as there are better opportunities out there.</p>
