This FPL strategy article will look at Rich P&#8217;s team for Gameweek 14 as he looks to build on a top 14k finish from last season with his data-based approach.

It was a disaster of a week if I&#8217;m honest. I went from 36k to 76k in one week and I can&#8217;t really explain why. I guess it&#8217;s a case of &#8216;none of my players scored any points but other players did&#8217;.
A smidgen of solace is most of the Twitter FPL community also did badly, so it&#8217;s a case of moving on and cracking on with the next gameweek.

Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.8m) got a goal, but it was Andreas Pereira (£4.6m) who stole the plaudits with a 10 pointer. He was stuck on my bench, whereas other managers managed to get his points.
Marc Guehi (£4.4m) has been a disaster for me, with the only clean sheet he returned coming away at Leicester, when he was third on my bench. Palace, despite good fixtures, have been woeful.
The double Newcastle defence of Kieran Trippier (£5.8m) and Nick Pope (£5.3m) conceded to Spurs, somewhat unsurprisingly.
Jarrod Bowen (£8.2m) did nothing and is now seemingly off penalties after having his effort against Liverpool saved &#8211; very disappointing and likely someone I look to move on.
Erling Haaland (£12.2m) got his usual brace, which was the only big return really.
New signing Phil Foden (£8.4m) was benched &#8211; classic Pep Guardiola. But with tasty fixtures coming up, I&#8217;m hopeful he comes good.
The bench is a different matter. Danny Ward (£4.1m) now has three clean sheets in a row but I wasn&#8217;t interested in switching the goalkeeper out as that has backfired in the past. Perhaps some negative bias I need to get past.
Neco Williams (£4.1m) kept a clean sheet against a dreadful Liverpool side as well.

West Ham have conceded the most FPL points to opposition goalkeepers this season, with Nottingham Forest scoring the most so far.
Liverpool are just behind but I can&#8217;t see why anyone would invest in them right now. You don&#8217;t know which Liverpool side are going to turn up. They go from putting on a masterclass against Manchester City to falling over their feet against Forest.
<h3>Defenders</h3>

Bournemouth are conceding the most FPL points to opposition defenders, with Wolves a fair bit behind them now.
A fortuitous goal and subsequent 15 pointer from Kurt Zouma (£4.5m), despite handball in the build up, cemented Bournemouth in that bottom spot.
The Cherries conceded a whopping 40 FPL points to West Ham&#8217;s defenders this week.
Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, West Ham, Wolves and Southampton are the teams you want your defenders to be playing against.
Spurs, Arsenal, Manchester City, Newcastle and Chelsea are the teams with defenders scoring the most FPL points.
I&#8217;d love to move Guehi on but with those fixtures and his price, I think it&#8217;s just a case of holding him now until the break.
He&#8217;s playing three of the five teams conceding the most FPL points to opposition defenders now. Not that I&#8217;m expecting much, especially after losing 3-0 to Everton.
<h3>Midfielders</h3>

Southampton and Leicester are conceding the most FPL points to opposition midfielders. Leeds, Wolves and Bournemouth are not too far behind.
Ideally I want midfielders facing these teams.
The teams who have the highest-scoring midfield units are Brighton, City, Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester United.
Bowen is on the chopping block for me but who comes in is a tricky decision.

Fulham and Leicester are the two teams conceding the most FPL points to opposition forwards.
City, Brentford, Spurs, Liverpool and Leicester are the teams with forwards scoring the most FPL points.
Everton have three fixtures all against teams conceding the most FPL Points to opposition forwards now &#8211; something to consider if you fancy a punt.

I look at this table to target specific fixtures and to see how teams are performing at home and away.
For my transfer targets and captaincy in any given week, I&#8217;ll be looking at how their opponents perform either at home or away.

The Hub <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/my-team">My Team</a> tool says I&#8217;m in decent shape this week but I do feel like Bowen could be a problem. He&#8217;s no longer on penalties from what he said after the Bournemouth game, so he&#8217;s potentially an expensive dud.
I&#8217;d quite happily play Pereira in his spot and may well do this.
So as it stands, my plan is to roll the transfer.
<h3>Captaincy</h3>
I&#8217;m on Haaland away to Leicester as it stands. If we get any early line up news and he’s not starting because of his <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/erling-haaland-and-joao-cancelo-injury-news-ahead-of-fpl-gameweek-14">knock in midweek</a>, I’ll switch to Mohamed Salah (£12.8m), as Leeds concede the fifth-most FPL points to opposition midfielders when they play on the road.

If I start Pereira over Bowen, I&#8217;ve got a Gameweek rating of 90%. Decent if I say so myself.
However, as last week shows, a good team on paper doesn&#8217;t necessarily mean a high-scoring gameweek.
