<h2>BigManBakar's FPL Wildcard strategy tips</h2>
<p>As per the FPL rules, the first Wildcard will be available until Saturday, December 30, 18:30 UK time.</p>
<p>That means you can effectively play it any time before Gameweek 20.</p>
<p>There are two schools of thought on this matter. Some managers believe that a Wildcard should be used during challenging times when their team is in dire need of a revamp. Others prefer to plan ahead and strategically play it at a specific time.</p>
<p>While both viewpoints deserve respect, I think it is important to be aware that there are various optimal opportunities to use the first Wildcard.</p>
<p>In this article, I delve into these different windows.</p>
<h3>FPL Wildcard strategy 1: Before Gameweek 3</h3>
<p>The risk here is that you are wildcarding with just two weeks of data.</p>
<p>There's also the fact that most FPL managers could save a transfer in Gameweek 2 and quite easily make multiple transfers in Gameweek 3, which might be more optimal.</p>
<p>However, it means that you can take advantage of team value, since most managers will be engaged and price changes will be extremely volatile.</p>
<p>Both Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have a great run of fixtures after Gameweek 3. In fact, Spurs play all three of the promoted sides between Gameweek 3 and 8.</p>
