The 2023/24 Premier League season is just a few weeks away &#8211; but when does FPL start and when will the game be officially launched?
Here, we take a look at the key dates you need to know.

<h2>When does FPL start? When does FPL launch?</h2>
Fantasy Premier League (FPL) mirrors the FPL season, so the game will officially begin on the first day of the 2023/24 season.
The first <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-fixtures-2023-24-announced">fixture</a> is Burnley v Manchester City on Friday, August 11, kicking-off at 20:00.
In previous years, FPL teams have had to be finalised 90 minutes before the first game of the week. We don&#8217;t yet know whether the rules on this will change, as the new game has yet to be launched.
FPL is launched a few weeks before the start of the season.
A good sign that this is getting closer is when player prices begin to be revealed.
Player prices for the 2023/24 season began being released on Monday. They are set to continue until Wednesday.
This could mean FPL could launch later this week, any time from Wednesday onwards.

<h2>FPL prices: What do we know so far?</h2>
We&#8217;ve produced a number of articles on player prices already &#8211; and we&#8217;re following proceedings each day in a <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-price-reveals-day-two-live">live blog</a>.
Monday saw the first 20 prices revealed on the FPL Show, including Erling Haaland (£14.0m) and Mohamed Salah (£12.5m).
As well as the league&#8217;s biggest stars, there was also teasers of some promoted players, including Burnley&#8217;s Manuel Benson (£5.5m) and Amari&#8217;i Bell (£4.0m) of Luton. Bell has already been tipped as a potential budget gem in defence.

<h2>Who are the most expensive players in FPL 2023/24?</h2>
Haaland&#8217;s price is unlikely to be matched, with his £14.0m price tag a joint record in FPL.
Salah is a whole £1.5m cheaper &#8211; although it remains to be seen whether Haaland&#8217;s price deters many from buying him, given his goalscoring record last season.
Son Heung-min came in at £9.0m &#8211; a big price reduction after an average season by his standards.
And in defence, the priciest we&#8217;ve seen so far is Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.0m). The Liverpool full-back has a new role in midfield when in possession, playing to his creative strengths.
