<p>The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and Asian Cup start later this month &#8211; but which Premier League players are affected?</p>
<p>Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers may notice some red flags in their teams, with a number of players heading for international duty.</p>
<p>Among the biggest names out of Premier League action in the coming weeks are <strong>Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) </strong>and <strong>Son Heung-min (£9.9m)</strong>.</p>

<h2>When are AFCON and the Asian Cup taking place?</h2>
<p>The important thing from an FPL perspective is that the tournaments are both set to impact Gameweek 21-24.</p>
<p>Popular players like Salah and Son represent nations among the favourites to lift the trophies, so fantasy managers should expect them to be absent for at least the majority of this four-gameweek period.</p>
<p>Gameweek 25 begins on Saturday, February 17, so should be unaffected unless the victorious players are granted a rest following celebrations.</p>

<h2>Which Premier League players are taking part in AFCON?</h2>
<p>The major headline from an FPL perspective is the inclusion of Salah<strong> </strong>in the Egypt squad.</p>
<p>The Liverpool midfielder is in 46.6% of teams, making him the fourth-highest owned player in the game.</p>
<p>No other AFCON-bound players are among the top 20 most-owned picks, however the likes of <strong>Mohammed Kudus (£6.9m) </strong>have become increasingly popular after hitting form.</p>
<p>Others, like <strong>Issa Kabore (£4.0m) </strong>and <strong>Simon Adingra (£5.0m) </strong>have proved useful budget enablers, although Adingra has been out injured since Gameweek 19.</p>
<p>Provisional squads were announced before Christmas, with final squads having to be confirmed by today.</p>
<p>Players who made their countries&#8217; provisional squads, including <strong>Said Benrahma (£5.6m)</strong>, <strong>Lyle Foster (£4.8m) </strong>and <strong>Amad Diallo (£4.4m)</strong>, did not make the final cut.</p>
<p><strong>Bryan Mbeumo (£6.8m) </strong>was optimistically included in the initial Cameroon squad but injury will keep him out of the tournament and he was not part of the final list.</p>

<p>The list for the Asian Cup is shorter, with Son the main FPL name.</p>
<p>The South Korean is in 38% of teams, making him the sixth-highest owned player in the game.</p>
<p><strong>Hwang Hee-chan (£5.7m) </strong>is in 9.8% of teams, having scored 100 FPL points to date.</p>
<p><strong>Kaoru Mitoma (£6.4m) </strong>is in more than 15% of teams but has missed the last three of Brighton&#8217;s matches through injury. His manager Roberto De Zerbi expressed surprise that he remained called up by Japan, stating it was unlikely he would be able to feature in any of the tournament.</p>
