<h2><strong>Best FPL captain for Gameweek 22: The candidates</strong></h2>
<p>With <strong>Erling Haaland (£13.9m)</strong> still ruled out last week, our pick defaulted to <strong>Bukayo Saka (£9.1m)</strong>.</p>
<p>We called the fixture dynamics correctly; it was a goal fest, so we expected some involvement from Saka, but alas it was a disappointing blank.</p>
<p>The template is strong at the moment, and our usual captaincy choices aren’t available. The best way to gain an advantage over rivals is through your captain, but who should you go for?</p>

<h4>Captaincy Candidates</h4>
<p><strong>Eze</strong> - blanked the reverse fixture, but returned in both games when he faced Chris Wilder's Sheffield United the last time they were in the league.</p>
<p><strong>Pedro </strong>- scored in the reverse fixture.</p>
<p><strong>Foden </strong>- blanked in the last three starts against Burnley (two were away). All of his returns have come at the Etihad, including a brace.</p>
<p><strong>Bowen </strong>- returned in his last two matches against Bournemouth, but hasn't returned at home against them yet.</p>
<p><strong>Richarlison </strong>– blanked in the reverse fixture.</p>
<h4>Additional Candidates</h4>
<p><strong>Haaland </strong>- braced in the season opener.</p>
<p><strong>Alvarez</strong> - picked up an assist in the reverse fixture.</p>
<p><strong>Watkins </strong>- had an assist in the reverse fixture, and recorded a brace plus an assist in the home game last season.</p>
