<h2><strong>Best FPL captain for Gameweek 36: The candidates</strong></h2>
<p>I’ve drafted this prior to the conclusion of Gameweek 35 and the final fixture will determine whether the <strong>Cole Palmer (£6.2m)</strong> pick was a success or not and how popular he will be this week.</p>
<p>The previous double and the one in Gameweek 37 have driven us towards a similar pool of players and it’s increasingly more difficult to differentiate at this stage. With just three gameweeks left, how do close the gaps on your rivals?</p>
<p>Aggressive captaincy - avoiding the popular option - is arguably your best chance of doing so but comes with a risk. Who should you go for this week if that’s your goal?</p>

<p>I will also include <strong>Kai Havertz (£7.5m)</strong>, as I can’t ignore his current form and <strong>Mohamed Salah (£13.5m)</strong> because he’s exactly the type of explosive differential we’re looking for.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: left;">Best FPL captain for Gameweek 36: Players' records</h2>
<p><strong>De Bruyne - </strong>Has returned in each of his last three games against Wolves. Last season it was a double assist at home and the season before he put four past them away.</p>
<p><strong>Haaland - </strong>Blanked the reverse fixture but scored a hat-trick the last time he faced Wolves at home.</p>
<p><strong>Isak - </strong>Scored in the reverse fixture.</p>
<p><strong>Foden - </strong>Blanked the reverse fixture but did score against them the only time he played them last season. He is yet to start a home game against Wolves.</p>
<p><strong>Saka - </strong>Scored in the reverse fixture but other than that his record against Bournemouth is terrible.</p>
<h3>Other candidates</h3>
<p><strong>Havertz - </strong>Scored in the reverse fixture.</p>
<p><strong>Salah -</strong> Blanked the reverse fixture but scored in the last home meeting with Spurs and the majority of his goals against them have come at Anfield.</p>
