<h2><strong>Best FPL captain for Gameweek 9: The candidates</strong></h2>
<p>We smashed it in Gameweek 8, backing the differential <strong>Mohamed Salah (£12.6m)</strong>.</p>
<p>Hopefully you went with our recommendation to get a massive rank boost against your rivals.</p>
<p>This week there are a number of enticing opportunities, but I think one stands out. Read on to find out who.</p>
<p>I’ve provided a breakdown of the best options. The main candidates for this week I'm looking at are:</p>

<li><strong>Erling Haaland (£14.0m)</strong> v Brighton (H)</li>
<li><strong>Son Heung-min (£9.5m) </strong>v Fulham (H)</li>

<li><strong>Kieran Trippier (£6.8m) </strong>v Crystal Palace (H)</li>

<p>There are solid alternatives to the above from the same teams, however I have selected these specific options as I believe they have the most upside.</p>

<p><strong>Haaland</strong> - braced in the last home match against Brighton.</p>
<p><strong>Trippier</strong> - hasn't returned against Palace for Newcastle, although we all know his points potential if he does.</p>
<p><strong>Salah</strong> - has returned against Everton in his last two home games, and three of the last four matches.</p>
<p><strong>Son</strong> - has only returned once away from home.</p>
<p><strong>Fernandes</strong> – has a terrible record.</p>
<p>Just out of interest for those that still hold him, and are itching to get rid:</p>
<p><strong>Marcus Rashford (£8.8m)</strong> - has double returned both times he's faced Sheffield United away.</p>
