FPL Double Gameweek 29 reaches its halfway point tonight (Monday, April 2) and there&#8217;s already been a number of talking points on and off the pitch.
Defeats for Chelsea and Leicester against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace saw managers Graham Potter and Brendan Rodgers lose their jobs.
Julian Nagelsmann, who left Bayern last month, has been linked with the Chelsea job.
But it was much brighter news for the two teams in the title race, with both Arsenal and Manchester City celebrating 4-1 home wins.

<h2>FPL Gameweek 29: Brighton and Palace top of the shots</h2>
When Potter left Brighton for Chelsea seven months ago, in came Roberto De Zerbi with a pledge to Seagulls fans:
<blockquote>“I love attack. I love to attack with many players. It’s important the defensive phases but I love attack.
“If I decided to attack or defend normally my idea is it is more important to attack.”</blockquote>
Few could have predicted just how attacking Brighton would become.
The south-coast side now top the league for expected goals (xG) per 90 since the post-World Cup restart &#8211; 2.25 &#8211; taking over from City on 2.21.
This peaked in Gameweek 29, with a record-breaking 3-3 draw with Brentford.
Brighton took 33 shots, with an xG of 4.56. It was the most shots of any team in a single game so far this season.
Every outfield player had at least two shots, the first time this has happened since Opta started collecting data in 2003, according to Sky Sports.
Alexis Mac Allister (£5.5m), Kaoru Mitoma (£5.6m) and Solly March (£5.2m) were all among the points again, with Mitoma top scoring with seven points.
The Japanese winger&#8217;s goal was added to by Danny Welbeck (£6.5m) and a late Mac Allister penalty, with March, Deniz Undav (£5.0m) and budget goalkeeper Jason Steele (£3.9m) assisting.
March was the star from a <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> perspective, with the highest expected FPL points in Gameweek 29 so far.

De Zerbi&#8217;s all-out-attack philosophy would have rang alarm bells for those holding Brighton defenders when the Italian was hired.
They would have expected De Zerbi&#8217;s side to concede their fair share of goals as they pushed forward in number.
Games like Saturday&#8217;s 3-3 thriller have not been the standard though.
Since the restart, Brighton are fourth best for expected goals conceded (xGC) per 90 at 1.1.
Since De Zerbi&#8217;s first league match, in FPL Gameweek 10, their xGC per 90 of 1.2 is the fourth-best total. Their xG per 90 is second best. And no team has had more shots on target per game.
Brighton are now six points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur with two games in hand.
<h3>Palace rival Brighton for shots</h3>
Roy Hodgson&#8217;s return to Crystal Palace would not have brought expectations of De Zerbi-like <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a>.
Palace ranked third bottom for shots and xG in 2020/21, Hodgson&#8217;s final season before Patrick Viera took over.
But with Viera replaced by his predecessor, Eagles fans were treated to a shots spectacle against Leicester on Saturday.
Palace managed 31 attempts on goal, nine on target, with an xG of 2.21.
While Brighton bettered them, it was the joint-highest figure Palace had ever recorded in a top-flight game.
It was a far cry from earlier this year, when Viera&#8217;s men had no shots on target in 196 minutes of football.
Most of the action took place in the first half &#8211; their 20 efforts on goal the most in a half by any side since 2015. Wilfried Zaha (£7.2m) managed a league-leading seven shots in the box in 45 minutes before getting <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-gameweek-29-injury-news">injured</a>.
But it was not until the second half that any goals went in &#8211; and the first went to Leicester through substitute Ricardo Pereira (£5.4m).
Palace got their rewards when an Eberechi Eze (£5.4m) free kick deflected in off the bar and the back of Daniel Iversen (£3.8m) before a winner from Jean-Philippe Mateta (£5.1m) thanks to an exquisite piece of control.
The result marked the end for Leicester manager Rodgers, with the Foxes having the fewest shots on goal of the weekend.

<h2>Manchester United defeated by Newcastle as Rashford blanks</h2>
United posted the lowest xG of the weekend as they and most-popular captain Marcus Rashford (£7.3m) came up blank.
Their 2-0 loss at the hands of Newcastle opened up the race for the top four. Both teams are tied on 50 points, with Newcastle in third on goal difference.
They are one point ahead of Spurs, with a game in hand.
The result appeared to be a wake-up call for Erik ten Hag&#8217;s men, with Luke Shaw (£5.2m) giving an honest assessment post-match:
<blockquote>&#8220;I think you can say it&#8217;s maybe been coming, before the international break we had dropped levels and it was clear to see today The levels were not there. It’s not good enough and it’s not acceptable.
&#8220;I’m not going to go too much into it, but the players had a chat in the changing room after with no staff around, as it’s ultimately down to us on the pitch. It’s nowhere near good enough and we had to speak out in front of each other and own up to it.&#8221;</blockquote>
Alexander Isak (£6.7m) was given another start up front and despite a bright game for the Swede, manager Eddie Howe was given a reminder of Callum Wilson&#8217;s (£6.9m) goalscoring abilities when he netted a winner from off the bench. Joe Willock (£4.7m) had given the home side the lead.
United host Brentford next, with FPL managers hoping for much more from Rashford and co.

<h2>Grealish stars in City&#8217;s 4-1 victory over Liverpool</h2>
It was a case of no Erling Haaland (£12.0m), no problem for City as they overcame a Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) opener to brush Liverpool aside.

Kevin De Bruyne (12.0m) top scored from an FPL perspective with a goal, assist and three bonus points &#8211; but Jack Grealish (£6.8m) matched his goal involvements.
The winger made his ninth consecutive start and has scored 66 points since the restart, with three goals and six assists. Only Leandro Trossard (£6.7m) has set up more goals.
Haaland stand-in Julian Alvarez (£6.0m) was an able deputy, also scoring and assisting. Ilkay Gundogan (£7.3m) was also on target, with Riyad Mahrez (£7.3m) contributing an assist from the right.

In this section, we round up the leaders for the key <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta">Opta stats</a> metrics in Gameweek 29 so far &#8211; as well as rounding up the best of the rest of the FPL action.
Ollie Watkins (£7.5m) scored on the road again as Aston Villa beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. His opener made it five consecutive away goals for the forward.
One of Potter&#8217;s last acts as Chelsea boss was to bemoan the low xG of Villa&#8217;s second goal &#8211; but there was no doubting the strike from John McGinn (£5.1m) was a fitting way to wrap up the victory.
The result meant a fourth clean sheet in five for Tyrone Mings (£4.4m) and the rest of Unai Emery&#8217;s back four.
There was no clean sheet for David Raya (£4.9m) and Brentford at the hands of Brighton, however the Spaniard did his best, making 11 saves.
Ethan Pinnock (£4.4m), picked by the Hub as Brentford&#8217;s best defender ahead of their double gameweeks. scored a second goal in five games.
Elsewhere, Dominic Solanke (£5.5m) was among the goals as Bournemouth beat Fulham 2-1. Solanke was tipped by managers including <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-salah-team-reveal">FPL Salah</a> as part of a potential string of hits ahead of Gameweek 29.
Although he did not go for him in the end, the 2.2% of managers who own the Cherries forward had a nine-point haul to celebrate.
Brennan Johnson (£5.7m) scored his sixth goal since the restart for Nottingham Forest but Daniel Podence (£5.2m) levelled things up for Wolves in the 83rd minute.
Ruben Neves (£5.3m) will miss two games after receiving his 10th yellow card of the season.
And finally, West Ham secured a narrow victory over Southampton on Sunday thanks to defender Nayef Aguerd (£4.8m) heading in a Thilo Kehrer (£4.3m) set piece.
