<h2><b>When do Canada play in the World Cup 2022? Group-stage fixtures</b></h2>
<p>Canada's group-stage fixtures are as follows - all times in GMT:</p>

<h2><b>Canada's route to the World Cup 2022: Qualifying performances</b></h2>

<p>Canada were ranked 73rd in the world at the start of World Cup 2022 qualifying and were not among the top-five CONCACAF region teams to receive a bye to the third stage.</p>
<p>They would therefore have to take the long route if they wanted to make what would be only their second appearance in the World Cup finals - their first coming in 1986.</p>
<p>Canada were though among the best-ranked teams having to start from the first round of qualifying. They won all four of their initial group games against Suriname, Bermuda, Aruba and the Cayman Islands to progress to round two.</p>
<p>This consisted of a two-legged playoff game against Haiti - a tie Canada won 4-0 on aggregate.</p>
<p>Now, all that stood between Canada and Qatar was the third-round 'Octagonal' CONCACAF qualifying, where the Maple Leafs would eventually win - ahead of the likes of USA, Mexico and Costa Rica.</p>
<p>Canada began with a 1-1 draw against Honduras. Both goals came via the penalty spot, with <strong>Cyle Larin </strong>converting for Canada.</p>
<p>Larin scored against in the next game, another 1-1 draw, this time with USA.</p>
<p>Their first win came at home in a 3-0 defeat of El Salvador, with <strong>Atiba Hutchinson, Jonathan David </strong>and <strong>Tajon Buchanan </strong>on target.</p>
<p>In a clash with Mexico, Canada made it three 1-1 draws in four, with <strong>Jonathan Osorio </strong>the scorer for Les Rouges.</p>
<p>Another draw - this time goalless - against Jamaica made it far from the ideal start.</p>
<p>But a 4-1 rout of Panama was much more like it, with an own-goal, Buchanan, David and <strong>Alphonso Davies </strong>to thank for the scoreline.</p>
<p>David scored the only goal of the game to defeat Costa Rica, while a Larin brace against Mexico made it three on the spin for Canada.</p>
<p>Back-to-back 2-0s against Honduras and USA, with <strong>Denil Maldonado </strong>and David and Larin and <strong>Samuel Adekugbe </strong>scoring, kept the run going.</p>
<p>And another 2-0, with Canada scoring through Hutchinson and David, made it five in a row.</p>
<p>The winning streak came to an end in March, when Costa Rica defeated the Maple Leafs 1-0.</p>
<p>They bounced back though, winning 4-0 against Jamaica. Larin, Buchanan, <strong>Junior Hoilett </strong>and <strong>Adrian Mariappa </strong>the goalscorers.</p>
<p>With qualification secured, a final-day defeat to Panama by a goal to nil did little to dampen spirits - and Canada could look forward to their first World Cup finals in 36 years.</p>
<h2><b>Canada's form since qualifying for the World Cup 2022</b></h2>
<p>Canada completed their qualifying campaign at the end of March.</p>
<p>They have since played twice in the CONCACAF Nations League in June, with two international friendlies in September.</p>
<p>In June, they beat Curacao 4-0, with a brace from Davies and goals from <strong>Steven Vitoria </strong>and <strong>Lucas Cavallini</strong>.</p>
<p>David scored in the next game, against Honduras, but Canada were beaten 2-1 away from home.</p>

<h2><b>Do Canada have any World Cup warm-up matches?</b></h2>
<p>A friendly against Japan is scheduled for November 17, six days before Canada play their opening World Cup game.</p>

<h2><b>Who is in the Canada World Cup 2022 squad?</b></h2>
<p>Countries are expected to announce their squads as late as November 14, narrowing down their preliminary lists of up to 55 players to 26 players.</p>
<p>Canada are set to confirm their final squad on November 13.</p>
